  1. I had a similar experience when I worked as an elementary school teacher. Every morning in the shower I would suffer from dry heaves and dreaded going to work. My solution to the problem was to embark on a new career path--the problem cleared right up and the anxiety vanished! Perhaps professional guidance would help you sort out whats going on for you. Best of luck!
  2. I think that you could sign BSN, RN if you want to but that all you really need to put is the RN after your name.
  3. Ah--got it! Glad I'm in the right place! =)
  4. Where should I have posted this? I'm still getting used to the different forums. --ET
  5. Thank you for all of your advice! I think that for now I will mention it if it is ever clearly necessary in the program (i.e. my blood is leaving my body for any reason), but otherwise I will keep my condition to myself. I have no plans to actively bleed on my classmates or patients. . .this is why universal precautions exist, right?
  6. Sparkpeople.com is an excellent site for calorie tracking, as well as calculating how many calories/day over a certain amount of time to reach a specific weight loss goal. I think that whether you count your work as calories burned is up to you--I personally only count exercise that is "above and beyond" my regular daily activities. ET
  7. Sorry for any confusion! I also apologize for the bombardment of posts--I wasn't sure which forum would be the best. HBV is hepatitis B virus
  8. Hello all--I was recently admitted into an RN/FNP program which I am THRILLED about! As part of the admissions process I had to have a physical done and provide vaccination records. When I went to my PCP for the physical form, she told me that she would sign the physical form if I later provided proof to her that I had disclosed my Hepatitis B status to my school. When I got home, I called the local health department to ask them about disclosure policies--they told me that I do not have to disclose my HBV and that I may want to keep it to myself because of possible discrimination. I feel very uncomfortable with my physician at this point. At the very least, I think it's time to find a new PCP. Am I under any legal obligation to disclose my health information to my school? Can my school revoke my admission based on this?

  10. Hello! I start my RN/FNP program in January and as pre-licensure students we have to wear white scrubs. So far every brand is very nearly see-through. Other than beige underwear or pantyhose underneath, are there any brands that are a thicker material? Thanks
