Hi guys,

I just completed A&P I last week (got my grade of a B+ today:yeah:) and will be starting A&P II on Monday. Just curious..will A&P II be harder than A&P I?

Also note: I took A&P I during Spring semester..but will be taking A&P II during a 7 week summer session..I know that will definitely affect how the class will be viewed.

Interested in all opinions..thanks!

To me AP 2 is much easier. I completed AP 1 in one whole semester ( four months) and got a B. I completed AP 2 in eight weeks on a fast track course and received an A. I think the material was more easier to grasp and I think the pressure of it being such a short course gave me the umf I needed to really crack down on my studying. So yes, thats my opinion. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks nursingstudent19! I had a classmate in A&P I who I had a friendly competition with..he was the smartest guy in the class..and received an A. We're both taking A&P II together and we're like..we got to get an A.

I'm working full-time (like I did last semester) but am a little nervous with it being a shorter session. However, I don't want to get anything lower than a B and with my friendly competitor in the class..hopefully, that will be the umf I need!

I actually think 2. For me there are more concepts that you need to know in depth. Filtration, Renal function, respiratory cycles and calculations ect. There is less memory and more comprehension I think. :uhoh3:

But they are both very doable. You'll be fine though. Good luck.

Well I was working full time as well and it can be done. Its nice to have a friendly competition but I think if you guys team up you both will come out with A's ! :specs::specs:

Good luck to the both of you.

A&P 2 was MUCH harder for me. Memorizing the blood vessels and finding them on fetal pigs is harder than it sounds. Also, in A&P 2 we went through the endocrine system...which can be a little tricky.

Oh yeah..even though we called it a "competition" it wasn't like the usual competition..we motivated each other to get good grades. One test, I'll score higher..next test he'll score higher. The last 2 tests, we met early to study together..and that's why we're taking the class together..to keep each other motivated. We're aiming for A's!

Thanks, guys!

I found that in my school, the material for A&P I and II wasn't divided up evenly, so in A&P II we covered a LOT more ground. The first half semester in A&P I was going over biochemistry and cell biology, which I had already covered in other courses, so that was easy for me. Then we did tissues, bones and muscles. That was it. A&P II was EVERYTHING else, so it got overwhelming. The nervous system took like half a semester, and after that it was one system a week. Endocrine--BAM! Circulatory--BAM! Respiratory--BAM! The pace of it was overwhelming and there was a lot to absorb.

I ended up with an A+ in A&P I and a plain ole' A in A&P II... Still, I scored in the 80's on a lot of my tests in A&PII, which made me doubt up until the end how well I was doing. I guess I did very well on the finals which helped me pull through with an A.

I'd say A&P 2 is harder. If you have an instructor that can't really teach, that makes it more difficult.

I liked A&P 2 better. I wouldn't say that it's easier, but I thought it was more interesting when we were talking about actual organs rather than muscle and bone; this made it easier to learn for me because it was more interesting. :)

This is exactly what I wanted to say!
