as inspired by another thread, here's a motivational question! i guess this is more of a question for those of us who haven't had a real career before nursing....
what will you do with your first "real" paycheck?
i'm going straight to the salon. new cut, highlights, facial, mani, pedi...the works!
then, straight to the mall with my plastic because for the first time in my life it won't be just for "emergencies" anymore!
i can't wait!
Yay, this is a good thread!
Like someone said, I would stare at my first paycheck It took me four agonizing years of waiting to get into the program and I'll be graduating next December. I want this so bad, I will never forget my struggle in all of this, well, I don't think any of us will :w00t:
Some ideas might be:
- start saving for a beautiful home so I can get out of this dump
- down payment on a brand new Cadillac CTS-V
- set up membership to brazilian jiu jitsu dojo/continue my thai boxing training
- buy a second puppy
- help my boyfriend (hopefully by then, husband!) save up to open his own auto body shop
- buy my younger brother something to make up for all the birthdays and christmases I was too broke/busy to get him something nice
- spa/salon day
- save up for a real vacation, Hawaii, Japan/Korea, Europe
Can't wait! All our hard work will pay off!
Hmmm first real paycheck...Well of course I'm going to treat myself to a massage and definitely a pedicure! Then I have to get some bills paid. OH! and I'll be in a new apartment with no furniture...so I'll be looking at some furniture stores hopefully :) I don't have kids, but I have a boyfriend who has been so patient with me through all of this and I'm definitely going to treat him with something (maybe a trip somewhere).
Wow whoever thought of this thread really did a good job, this is good motivation; thinking about the end :)
First......take my bf somewhere suuuperr nice and stay in a niiic hotel...then I will take our mothers for a spa day and shopping. Next check will go towards savings account for school debt and savings for a house and graduate school...sigh....dare to dream! Finally I will save for a while for a new car as well....

It's more like my first few paychecks. I will be using my VA loan to get a house, and then a down payment on a better car. Two door coupe is not good with a newborn and back issues. After that spoil my daughter then eventually spoil myself.
