as inspired by another thread, here's a motivational question! i guess this is more of a question for those of us who haven't had a real career before nursing....
what will you do with your first "real" paycheck?
i'm going straight to the salon. new cut, highlights, facial, mani, pedi...the works!
then, straight to the mall with my plastic because for the first time in my life it won't be just for "emergencies" anymore!
i can't wait!
If I ever get into a nursing program, finish it, pass the test, find the job, and even get to the point of getting a first pay check.... I will take my family to a dinner at the most expensive Japanese restaurant in San Francisco, and let my kids eat as much sushi as they want, and watch their happy smile together with my husband.
Considering DH is taking care of ALL of our bills right now(and were hoping to have pretty much everything paid off at tax time), and it will be that way until I graduate...my 1st check is going to buy DS a new toy(hell be 3 and everytime I go to school he says"mommy school so mommy buy me new toys), Ill buy hubby a new pair of shoes just because(he has an obsession) and Ill get me a mani/pedi, a new Vera Bradley bag, and buy my mom(probably a new vera as well) and dad(probably new pans) something, then the rest is going in savings so we can move to TN :) Oh and hopefully a pregnancy test too!
I will use a small amount of it to pay on any debt I have at the time, then the rest will be to CELEBRATE! A nice gift for my parents for their support of me during school, a bunch of wonderful things for my kiddo, and I'll buy myself some nice clothes and shoes and a new computer(possibly an Apple...I've never had one!)
After awhile, I'll start looking for my own place (preferably a house) and go on a shopping spree at Williams Sonoma. (I swear, I could spend 3 hours walking around in that store!) Then, I plan on having a little housewarming get-together for just family and super-close friends where I can cook dinner and everyone can sit around and relax and enjoy themselves. Yes, I really do think that far ahead!

Hmmm.. go on a shopping spree for myself and take my family out for a nice dinner to thank them for sticking it out with me. We all made sacrifices for me to get through school.
