What will YOU do with your first "real" paycheck!?

Published

as inspired by another thread, here's a motivational question! i guess this is more of a question for those of us who haven't had a real career before nursing....

what will you do with your first "real" paycheck?

i'm going straight to the salon. new cut, highlights, facial, mani, pedi...the works!

then, straight to the mall with my plastic because for the first time in my life it won't be just for "emergencies" anymore!

i can't wait!

I'm gonna save up for a deposit on my first house. Yay so excited. I'm trying to figure out if I should move into an apartment throughout school or stay in my current place until I'm at least halfway done with my RN's. Idk. Either way I have to get another car. We only have one now and it's not enough

What I meant to say was use the first check toward a down payment on another car, lol.

Nope, too late. You've already committed to paying cash for a car with your first paycheck.

This should do nicely!

Well that's true. I knew a girl when I was younger who had serious anal and lady partsl bruising from wiping too hard with harsh toilet tissue

I lold poor girl

I want a bunny (okay, not really, they seem like a lot of work).

Vacation for my parents, a new computer for dad, and a nice bag for mom. I will save whatever is left, and future paychecks, b/c I haven't been deprived of anything in nursing school (thank you thank you thank you mom and dad!!)

Take a nice long trip to Australia to visit my best friend!

Buy a new surfboard!

Take my parents to Disney world for being so supportive!:)

And getting married to my fiance in Disney World!

Come on May of 2014!!!!

Pay off my credit cards I used during school. With my second check, I will buy my husband hunting supplies and buy my kids nice new school uniforms.

Catch up on saving for a new house with a backyard for my son! Once we have a backyard (we live in a condo now), I will get him the puppy and playscape he's been asking for. Saving to take a two week vacation to the Gulf Coast of Florida, complete with several days at Disney World for me, my son and my mom (who's been watching my son while I work and go to school). Likely, there will be an indulgent day spent at the spa for a little R&R for me and my mom. Very much looking forward to that day!

I plan to pay my rent and take my kitties to the vet. Then I will probably pay down a few credit cards. Don't think there will be too much left after that :p

I owe my wife a 30th birthday gift. She turned 30 a few days ago and I had to post-date a birthday gift because we are so broke. I hope by the time she turns 31 I will be able to take her to Vegas and say "yes" to whatever she wants to do while we are there

Probably just pay bills and such. I would love to splurge on new things like a car, vacation, etc but that just isn't realistic. My husband works 60 hour weeks so I can do school full time without having to work so I want to do something nice for him too but again, most of my checks will be going towards bills. We live paycheck to paycheck right now and are barely getting by so it will be nice to have another income, I can't wait!

Wow, I hope to be getting some of y'alls paychecks!! :)

Let me see, first real paycheck? Take my husband out for a nice dinner to celebrate getting through everything. I will most likely splurge on a new tattoo and pick up anything nursey I need for work. After that, all paychecks are being handed right over to stafford loan until we are debt free!!!
