Something to understand what nurses think about re the Current News and their opinions!
Yeah, I don't care that Trump committed adultery with a Media star but I do care about his blatant dishonesty and will never understand why his supporters believe him so blindly without evidence.
But yeah there are plenty of examples of people not caring about civil offenses.
It is interesting that say the surgeon mentioned above faced consequences, and someone like singer Chris Brown won a Grammy after abusing singer Rhianna. Or Faldwell ruined his career by having threesomes with the pool boy. I think it matters depending on your status and what you stand for but not always.
It's pretty apparent that Trump isn't going anywhere, his rhetoric that he won the election isn't going anywhere and his fans and voters aren't going anywhere. The fervently are standing by him.
He's going to be a key player in the mid-terms which typically don't go well for the sitting president, especially if republicans rebound in voting full force.
I'm still a bit baffled with nearly 1.5 year to go why he's having rallies now unless that if he lays low in two years he's afraid people will have moved on, as they should. Florida Republican lawmakers certainly aren't moving on.
QuoteAmong those waiting in line to hear the former president speak was Stacey Shinn.
“I feel like Trump won,” Shinn said. “I’m here because I believe in him and what he’s done for our country. I’m here to support him and let him know the people are behind him and believe him.”
Has anyone been watching Wimbledon? Sarah Gilbert who developed the Astra Zeneca Covid-19 vaccine, in stark contrast to how we treat our people here, was invited to the Royal Box and was given a long standing ovation by the public. You could absolutely feel the gratitude.
Don't know if anyone had been to Wimbledon but Centre Court's crowd is normally quite reserved, usually cowed by the atmosphere of the place. There are a few sports stadiums that is absolutely necessary to soak up the atmosphere and the history and Centre Court Wimbledon is definitely one. Lord's cricket ground and Twickenham for rugby are others. Nou Camp and the Bernabeu also for soccer.

He's doing it for the money! He's going to need it because they are going to bankrupt him with legal fees before he's jailed. He's not walking away from this. It's only the beginning and he can't settle.

I'm having trouble validating that Trump is making any money on these rallies. How much does he actually make? I do know a lot of ex-politicians make money on the speaking circuit.

It clearly states in the Bible that I don't believe in, Judge not least ye be judged. It may be the edginess of that surgeon that made him good. I say surround him with observant, careful people and use his skills.
Where do you put the brakes on re judging people? Firstly their behaviors, then what about a foreigner who may have different ideas about behaviors? What's next, looks? Skin color? Sexual orientation? Size? Sex? Smell? I expect reasonable behaviors for the society and job at hand eg as long as that surgeon doesn't come in inebriated, keeps up with the board's educational requirements and doesn't abuse or hit co workers, I wouldn't care if he sat on cacti, in his spare time or looked like Daffy Duck!
Are you really comparing skin color to wife beating? I also worked with a surgeon who went to jail for wife beating. I remembered him as a resident and he was despised for being arrogant. I was just a student and would never have the chutzpa to speak up but the CRNA I was working with told him to shut the f#%k up because the orifice was rushing him badly (for a sitting cranial case- and you wonder why surgeons operate on the wrong side of the head!) and the entire room remained silent for the rest of the case. So letting that guy touch my brain would be similar to giving money to Trump for his election. Equally stupid and hurtful to the patient and the staff.

The problem is people enable them which gives them the big head. People like those are almost always cowards, as most inconsiderate people are. If they know they will get their asses beaten once they step out of the hospital, you see how quickly they behave themselves. All bullies are cowards and you simply need to be clever in how you deal with them. You don't take them on alone because they have pissed many people off, so you organize their victims, get evidence and written statements. By yourself you are weak, in a group, very powerful!

No hospital will deny surgeons privileges for merely behaving badly. I would take something larger than that - like a HIPAA violation to get their privileges removed. Surgeons have lawyers too and it can be a long and expensive fight to get them out. Our own ANA who SHOULD be the coordinator of rounding up the troops in the largest health care profession can't (or won't) even support patient ratios. I don't know why the majority of nurses are so apolitical and actually walk away from the power we have in numbers. Look at the miniscule size of the members of AN who participate in the political threads - we are a very small club.
99% of June's Covid-19 related deaths were not vaccinated! Coincidence?
Interesting to hear non vaxxers response to this information.

They are saying fake news and/or fear mongering. On Bloomberg's facebook page this is what they were saying. The conservative website Town Hall the other day ran an article about Fauci's stunning ignorance or something like that focusing on the virus lab leak theory, so non-vaxxers aren't about giving a flip about what Fauci is saying because he lies and is incompetent.
He was on Face the Nation the other day and my friend was saying he looked more depressed and dejected than he's ever seen him. Imagine we have a solution right in our hands, and people don't have to die and people ignoring that. Yes the death rate is mercifully low but isn't over 600,000 dead enough?
In my mind's wish list Fauci retires gracefully, has his retirement party and gives every one of his haters a big F.U. especially Trump.

Trump and his followers are the largest group of people demonstrating regularly that they don't care about: character, morality, qualifications, experience, ethics, honesty, laws, ordinances, covid vaccination or the democratic processes that make our country "great". My guess would be that we all see many examples of that all the time.
