What type of clothes/outfits do you wear to theory and lab?
Last semester I was so tired I always wore jeans or sweats with T Shirts and hoodies and a ponytail but some of my classmates looked very nice and kind of business casual. Not fancy or overdone just nice. I think it probably affected the way out professors viewed them and I'm going to try to put some effort in it this semester-who knows it might affect my confidence and teachers/peers perceptions of me.
I don't think anyone in our cohort dresses business casual unless they have an interview afterwards. We're all pretty much jeans and t-shirt/sweatshirt type of group. The only time we have to wear our scrubs in for clinical and lab check offs. For me, if I knew I'd be sitting on the hard plastic and the furthest from ergonomic chairs ever made for 8 hours straight or if I had to rush to work immediately after (coach gymnastics), I wore yoga pants. I always did my hair and make up. As long as it doesn't look like you literally just rolled out of bed (even if you really did), you will be fine.
I use to dressy casual b/c at my old job thats how i dressed so im either wearing a fitted tshirt sum baaaadddd 5 to 5 1/2 inch pumps w/a cute blazer & accessories or a cute pair of dressy/classy shorts(to show off my sexy legs) a pair of wedge shoes etc. i like that look. I mean dnt get me wrong i feel/look good in sneakers n jeans & a tee BUT I feel extra sexy w/ skinny jeans & pumps or shorts! ive been wearing shorts year round now, cant wait for the winter time so i can wear sum tights or fishnet w/ ankle booties & I like the stares & rolled eyes looks from my classmates! I just smh & laugh! I guess its a city girl thing! My new favorite tee i found the other day i cant wait to wear has a lion with glasses & a bow tie that says " if i said i wasnt a nerd i'd be lion" & of course i wear glasses & consider myself somewhat a NERD! Just have to get me a cute pair of yellow jeans or yellow shorts. Shopping trip to tjmaxx!
I have always worn t shirts, jeans, shorts or sweats, and on occasion I have dressed cute. At my school, they do not care how you dress as long as for a presentation, you dress nice. Sleep comes rare to me, so when I sleep good, I am definitely throwing stuff on and putting my hair up in a pony tail or sock bun. Only days I wore scrubs are clinical days. I am so glad my school does not care how we dress. I like being able to feel comfy during those long hour classes.
For my program I usually wear capris/jeans, a decent (as in not revealing) top and flats or sandals to lecture. On days that I have lab, I have to wear scrubs and sneakers of any color/style. Clinical is our lovely white uniform. I have seen others come to lecture in anything from pj's to what you would wear out to the club. I like to keep it casual but put together. And my hair (waist length) is generally in a bun unless I'm in lecture where I wear it down.

I'm tired, I'm sleep deprived, I've just come from work, and I'm broke! I'm glad my school doesn't care either. People come in all different attire but no one looks like a slob. Even thoughts who come in sweatpants and tshirts.
For lectures we would wear whatever felt comfortable, nursing school & raising two kids was tiring! I always made sure my clothes were not wrinked and clean. If we had presentations, we would dress in slacks and blouse. Clinicals were scrubs obviously. Other clinicals, like Psych - we wore dress pants and blouse. I do think they judge us on how we look. As a second career, I wanted to make a good impression.
I feel for the people that have to wear their scrubs every day, YUCK! I carry a 30lbs backpack filled with books and junk, I spend 10 hours on campus many days. I do not want to be wearing my uniform 5 days a week when I'm sitting in class. Especially since we wear white scrub tops that you HAVE to wear something underneath or you can see even a nude colored bra. They're horrible!
Our instructors are dressed pretty casual as well, no jeans for instructors but otherwise nothing special.
What ever I wanted.. jeans, shorts, t-shirts etc.. On test days I looked like a bum, I wore my PJ pants, long sleeve shirt and always socks :) The testing room was always freezing and I dressed for comfort so I could concentrate on the test and not mess with being cold or uncomfortable :)

jeans, shorts, sweats etc...some in our class wore PJ's (they were generally the younger ones) and some wore scrubs (coming from or going to work after class) and there were a few professionals (one member of my class was an RD in a nursing home) and except for psych rotation (no scrubs allowed) we wore scrubs for lab and clinical...
