  1. College ruled by Fivestar(it has reinforced holes)
  2. The semester will be starting soon! I'm going to make salad in mason jars(google it-I saw it on pineterest) for class and clinicals. I'll make a whole mess of them on Sunday night and a big pitcher of nearly unsweetened ice tea in the fridge for caffine(about 1/4 cup sugar and some stevia for a 1 gallon pitcher). Drinking la croix water was helped me greatly reduce my diet coke consumption and I've lost 8 pounds so far this summer since keeping track of my calories and portions.
  3. My classmates use a large rolling scrapbooking bag or rolling sewing machine bag
  4. What type of clothes/outfits do you wear to theory and lab? Last semester I was so tired I always wore jeans or sweats with T Shirts and hoodies and a ponytail but some of my classmates looked very nice and kind of business casual. Not fancy or overdone just nice. I think it probably affected the way out professors viewed them and I'm going to try to put some effort in it this semester-who knows it might affect my confidence and teachers/peers perceptions of me.
  5. so, how'd you do?
  6. Did you check yet? Good Luck!
  7. A store bought frozen lasagna and bagged salad takes just a few min of prep and then you can spend quality time while its cooking. How about sandwiches and fruit for dinner eaten outside picnic style?
  8. I'm a full time student and I work part time and have young kids. It can be done but it is not easy. Somethings got to give. Dinners may not be fancy, ballet class may need to be put on hold, the whole family will need to help with housework, there are many sacrifices. If you can afford not to work-do it. But some people have to (like me) and I think it can be done successfully.
  9. I'm taking Pharmacology online this summer and feeling very overwhelmed! I need to put in way more time studying and reading. I also bought some used NCLEX books and some used med/surg concept books and I plan on reading over those once I get Pham under control. My first semester I struggled with organization and keeping the paper work under control so I need to set up my binders better for the start of next semester. I might take a trip to Staples and buy a crapload of dividers, tabs, and stuff. Hows everyone's summer break going?
  10. Congrats and try to relax if you can! Keep us updated!
  11. This is a great thread. I've put on some weight in NS and I'm hoping to lose 10-15 pounds in the next 4 months. Great tips! Any suggestions for someone trying to cut the diet coke addiction? Cucumber slices in water or lemon in water are not doing the trick.
  12. I just finished my 1st semester and I'll graduate with my ADN an my local CC in December 2014. Nursing school has been exhausting( I have little ones and work part time) but I think the next year and a half will fly by. Good luck to us all. Lets do this!
  13. Dansko Profesionals or Sanita. If you look at the hospital RN's that seems to be what 50-75% wear(in my experience).
  14. Thanks for all the replies so far. To answer the questions:40 total seats in this program each semester, including this program there are 3 nursing programs within 40 miles(one university and two community colleges), also the applicants that were accepted in this program can chose to defer their admission to the nursing program and save a spot for Winter semester(also 40 seats available). The packet they sent says to get my physical, background test, drug screen, finger printing done just in case...... Ugh, The waiting is torture.
