Externships
Hello everyone, I was wondering what all nursing students on externships get to do? Also do you enjoy having student nurses around to teach or is it bothersome? Do you find a lot of questions annoying? Of coorifice I wouldn't ask anything during an emergency situation. I know ill be really excited but I also want to make a good impression on the staff. Thank you all so much!

attn: experienced NICU RNs---
Thank you Bortaz for showing us some of the heartbreaking moments. The only NICU experience that I have is my baby being in there, I didn't know that the nurses had to do that part of it. At least now I can be more prepared mentally. I loved all of my NICU nurses, they were always very nice and I felt good knowing they were taking care of my baby for me. My experience is what made me want to go to school for nursing (I was 18), I swore I would never want to work in that stressful place with someone else's baby in my hands, but here I am! Call me crazy but I just feel like that's where I belong, like I'm being pulled toward the NICU. Lord help me!

How many nursing schools are you applying to?
I applied to two ADN programs and got accepted to the one I was wanting! My ADN-BSN bridge will only take 9 more months after I graduate so I picked the ADN program so I could work while I finish. good luck to all!

I am 22 and after two years of prerequisites I got accepted into the nursing program! I also have a 3 yr. old little boy. You can do it! I think everyone is scared starting out! I sure am but there's nothing else I could see myself doing! Good luck!

Class of 2015
Hello Jenjer003! It's awesome to see their is someone else in class with me on here! I'm not sure about my physical yet, I was going to call the health dept. in okemah to see if they did them or not, then ask a local physician if she will do it. I'll let you know on that! And I'm not sure on the titers because I already had those immunizations. But I know the okmulgee Health Dept. does the TB screening for $10.
