What street clothes do YOU wear in nursing school?

What type of clothes/outfits do you wear to theory and lab?

Last semester I was so tired I always wore jeans or sweats with T Shirts and hoodies and a ponytail but some of my classmates looked very nice and kind of business casual. Not fancy or overdone just nice. I think it probably affected the way out professors viewed them and I'm going to try to put some effort in it this semester-who knows it might affect my confidence and teachers/peers perceptions of me.

I'm a little jealous! I *have* to dress nice in my program -- dress code for class is business casual and "fully accessorized" and "fitting the professional appearance of the nursing profession" (their words, paraphrased). Bye, bye holey jeans! :( ;)

I wore whatever for lecture. No PJs or anything like that, but just normal everyday clothes.

We were required to wear scrubs for skills lab.

When I was a kid my mom FORCED me to dress up on the first day of school. It was fourth semester and it was my LAST first day of school EVER (or so I thought at the time) so I dressed up. I was 34. I printed my lecture notes & went into the nursing office to use the 3 hole punch. One of my instructors introduced herself to me & thought I was an adjunct faculty. It was kind of awesome since I want to become a nurse educator someday. She later said I had the vibe. :)

Our program requires us to wear business casual to class- always. During the first semester it was a bit overwhelming, but now that I've gotten used to it it's really not so bad!

We have to wear our uniform scrubs not only to clinicals, theory class and simulation lab...but whenever we are on campus!:yuck: Wearing jeans to class must be nice.

For lab we had to wear scrubs. For lecture I';d wear jeans/capris and t shirts. Never looked sloppy, but comfy.

THAT would be annoying. We were on campus all the time, and my scrubs would never have been clean for CLINICALS! If I was on campus all day to study or whatever, I would be irritated to have to wear my scrubs. Hm. I wonder what their logic is behind this.
