I'm not sure they still make the cargo pockets on the pants with the cuffs at the ankle....but between the two pockets on my thighs, and the two patch pockets on my top, I sounded like a junk truck. And that's if I didn't have anything stowed away unexpectedly. I think Peds was the most interesting load of junk (whether a ped's floor, or on a med-surg floor that took peds patients)... pacifiers, nipples, booties, a 2 oz D-10, electrodes, Emla, Tegaderm, saline flushes....
I am still not entirely sure why, but I have come home with tons of pills that patients have refused. They are still in their packaging. I must do it absent-mindedly, because I can't recall ever purposely placing a pill in my pocket.
As for the keys, I used to bring them home at least every other week!
But the strangest thing ever was an ID band. I think the patient's came off for some reason so I shoved it in my pocket after ordering a new one.
Ouch ! What hoops did you have to jump through to get those back? (we used to have to bring them back immediately - this before cell phones- in the meantime, maintenance would change the locks on the drawers).
After my 30 minute drive home, and stripping out of my clothes I noticed them. I had to bring them back immediately. I never did that again, lesson learned.

my friend found a baby turd in her pocket after work...we were at a party at the time she found it
Bottle of warfarin - obviously took it out to check with another nurse
olanapine wafer - kept that for the next shift gave it to the same pt as I had given the first one to!
glycerine suppository
ward moblie phone that the bed manager uses to book beds & talk to the charge nurse
DD keys
trauma pager not really sure on that one as it wasn't the wards pager!
empty coag blood tube
Bag of Flagal!! That one was strange! cause I didn't have a pt on Flagal plus it is big enough to be awkward in my pocket
I tend to use my pockets as a junk drawer! I go into the storeroom/drug room after I hand the keys and charge phone over!
Accidently took a microlax, lube and haliperidol home one day. Caused my nurse housemate to look at me strangly when I pulled them out!
