I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

Cool, you made it to the Urban Dictionary:
QuoteA MAGAphile is is true believer in the Donald Trump cult named after his 2016 campaign slogan, Make America Great Again, which basically means undoing and blocking anything Obama did or the liberals want. Like Trump himself, they seek to be shameless paragons of deplorableness and incorrigibility. This is all okay because the liberals shamelessly murder their own babies, but someday soon liberals will be stopped from this vile form of family planning. And we'll also all be free to say Merry Christmas and Happy Thanksgivingwithout fear of persecution.
It doesn't seem to be thrown out with kindness and seems to be used derogatory. But I can see basically it mean "Trump supporter/believer" and it might be easier to say "Magaphile"

Thankfully didn't lose power. It knocked over my trash bin which I forgot to put in the garage but other than that it was really a non-event. Just some wind and rain. I've been through worse Summer thunderstorms than this. I do feel bad for people affected.
Thanks for asking.

WOW - I didn’t know that! I guess I took credit too soon …. GMTA, I guess.
Still waiting on suggestions for terminology that doesn’t conflate magaphiles with republicans and conservatives.
Language shapes thinking … I’m mystified by the complaints about blanket negative references to republicans/conservatives by the very same posters who refuse to name a mmore acceptable way of referring to magaphiles. Are we not supposed to think about them, their politics or behavior?

The MAGA movement is based in lies and grievance and since Trump lost the 2020 election the MAGA movement represents a danger to our democratic republic. I don't feel any need to utilize kindness when referring to dangerous and harmful groups, accuracywill suffice. If folks want to be treated with kindness then they could dissociate themselves from dangerous groups and instead associate themselves with groups affiliated with kindness rather than with dangerous lies. For instance, I feel no obligation to treat members of the KKK with kindness, nor the members of the Westboro Baptist "church"... my interactions would only need to be lawful, civil and nonviolent... not kind.

I wasn't suggesting how you behave. I was saying the Urban Dictionary definitely of magaphile really isn't a neutral term but spit out with vitriol.
To me it's not a vile term though. I disapprove of things like "the orange one" and effigies like the nude one of Trump, but "magaphile" is pretty mild.
Trump supporters won't get ugly name calling from me, they aren't worthy of any respect or kindness from me either. They say "f-your feelings" and fly "F-Joe Biden flags" and preach morality, and while I won't say that back to them, because I take a higher road, they aren't worthy of my time or kindness.
In other news the stock market had a good day.
QuoteStock futures rose Friday after China said it would ease some Covid measures, building on optimism from lighter-than-feared inflation data that fueled a broad market rally in the previous session.

Would be nice if this is the beginning of some good economic news, but I won't hold my breath as one day doesn't make a recovery and there are a lot of "ifs"...

Europe Braces for Recession as Economies Falter https://nyti.ms/3G2jgIW
Quote“The E.U. economy is at a turning point,” Mr. Gentiloni said. “Recent survey data points to a contraction for the Winter.”
Britain and Europe are suffering from the twin plagues of rising inflation and slowing or declining growth. The war in Ukraine and retaliatory sanctions against Russia, one of the world’s biggest energy and grain producers, has caused fuel, food and fertilizer prices to soar. Supply chain disruptions rooted in the pandemic and ongoing Covid-19 lockdowns in China — most recently in the manufacturing hub of Guangzhou — have also exacerbated economic difficulties, as have shifting consumer preferences and climate-related disasters.
QuoteIn Germany, Europe’s largest economy, the annual inflation rate, according to one measure, reached 10.4 percent in October. The E.U.’s latest forecast for German economic growth showed a contraction of 0.6 percent next year.
In Britain, the annual inflation rate reached 10.1 percent in September, the highest level in 40 years, and is expected to rise even more before peaking. Call-in radio talk shows on the BBC are dominated by people who are anxious about being able to afford to heat and light their homes.
“There is a tough road ahead,” Jeremy Hunt, the chancellor of the Exchequer, warned on Friday, “one which will require extremely difficult decision to restore confidence and economic stability.”
Things are going to remain uncertain as long as authoritarians like Putin start wars and tell lies that destabilize countries.

Where I live it's below the national average, but has gone up some this month with prices apparently stagnant this week.
Everything still remains high and certainly prices are not going to come down anytime soon. If ever. There is no good news but to me seeing the slowing down of inflation, with the hope that we've reached a peak, is better than what we've been getting which is "the highest inflation in 40 years..." over and over.
Since my retirement is still in the Stockmarket I take any good news about the market I can get to keep myself hopeful I won't live in poverty.
I do my electric bill on a budget in that they average the previous 12 months and come up with the price I pay each month. That way it's not so high in the Summer. They do the average every three months. For several years it's usually it's pretty much the same within a few dollars sometimes going up and sometimes going down, but this month I got the bad news it's going up $50 a month. My car insurance dramatically went up this year and I shopped around and couldn't find a better rate unless I cut back on coverage.
I am fortunate to have disposable income when I used to get a loan to remodel my bathroom. Of course the interest rate is higher than if I'd done it a couple years ago.
It's always something.
