I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

This is so true (except I wouldn't use the word "leaders" for these people). If we the people don't wake up and stop fighting each other but instead hold the people in charge accountable we are all going to pay the price. The elites only care about the elites!
The republicans are not comfortable with their wackos either!
Just comfortable enough to keep them and assign them committees. The overwhelming majority voted for Kevin....res ipsa loquitor.

Saying you voted for Biden as the lesser of 2 evils highlights the problem with our government now.
Saying I voted for Biden says my preferred candidate did not win the nomination. I don't think that highlights what is wrong with out government. What I think is wrong is greed, the influence of dark money and foreign actors. Trump showed that raw greed and blatant corruption are no longer disqualifications. Even though the local press reported on George Santos, he was still elected. Marjorie Taylor Greene, running in rural Georgia, raised millions in campaign contributions. That smells of corruption, and or foreign money.
There are enough corrupt politicians on both sides to go around. We would be here forever if we wanted to start naming them all. I think that the government is way past the point of no return in the corruption dept, too big, too bureaucratic, too many committees, spending way too much money. I don't see either side being able to solve the problem at this point. They are all either in it for themselves. None are working for we the people like they are supposed to be. Except maybe a few on a local level but in the big scope of things they have no power to really change things in DC.

IMV that's a lazy approach that allows us to just throw up our hands because some of us don't care about honesty or integrity as much as they care about being in control of things. I see some politicians trying to legislate and provide oversight on service to "we the people" and I see some who are doing little beyond playing politics and obstructing so that they can claim that the president is a failure and government doesn't work. Which politicians are talking about problem solving?

Nope, I don't buy into "both sides do it, so why bother". I think there are good people in government, but how do they compete against those who have rich benefactors who support the useful idiots like McCarthy?
Just giving up is what the unscrupulous want. I refuse to be a victim. Will people like the Mercers, Peter Thiel, Musk, the Kochs, dominate the government? Maybe. But to paraphrase Edmund Burke, bad government will dominate when good people just give up and let them.

We'll soon be paying for a splashy and loud House "investigation" into this story. Like the Benghazi hearings, it will all be political theater. There are too many voters who lack discernment.

Too many Democrats willing to overlook corruption, misogyny, and racism in their own party.

I agree. McCarthy is so cringeworthy as speaker. I had hoped someone else could have pulled off getting voted in as speaker
Jordan, to me, is wishy washy, and has many issues following him around
