What caught your attention in the world today?

I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news.  I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

According to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.

Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.

The arrested the guy the next day.

What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

In other words following the law.  Something Democrats see as an obstacle to their brand of fascism.

Classic projection: authoritarian bullies a citizen and blames them for causing it.

Former President Donald Trump on Saturday morning raged on his anti-Twitter app Truth Social about non-existent "fraud and deception" in the November 8th midterm elections – and he proposed scrapping the United States Constitution as a means to reinstall himself into the presidency. Trump also called for a do-over of the race that he lost in a landslide to President Joe Biden.

So, with the revelation of MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION in working closely with Big Tech Companies, the DNC, & the Democrat Party, do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution," Trump "truthed."

Donald Trump calls for the 'termination' of the United States Constitution over 2020 loss

He's the obvious crazy despot... it's the sneaky crazies hiding in the corners of the GOP that are worrisome.  How many elected officials share Trump's relative disregard for our form of government if they feel like abandoning those principles might gain them power? How many is too many?

"Switzerland could ban electric vehicles from being used non-essentially this Winter as government officials begin to brace for an energy crisis during the Winter months, according to reports."

Here's an interesting right of center perspective on Trump's unique brand of antidemocratic conservatism.

Republicans who think that their sternly worded warnings to Trump will be effective seem to have forgotten that this man purposefully endangered the life of his own vice president. So no, he will not be loyal to a political party, endorse the nominee, and encourage his voters to support the winner in 2024. Ronna Romney McDaniel, who has rigged the RNC for Trump (after he tried to steal an election) by paying his legal bills, buying Don Jr.’s books, and censuring Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, has no secret plan to keep Trump on the team. Nor does anyone who could defeat her for RNC chair.

Trump filing for an independent candidacy, Ryan replied, “then he gives the left the country. And I think he would not want to be blamed for doing that.”

Again: Republicans who have never—ever—seen Donald Trump motivated by shame cannot base their plan to exile him on shame. In 2016, he accused Ben Carson of having a pathological temper and showed up to debate Hillary Clinton with women who accused Bill Clinton of sexual harassment and assault. Complete and utter imperviousness to shame is one of Trump’s superpowers.

Trump is already going after the new GOP Golden Boy, slapping a nickname on the Florida governor and threatening to spread dirt about him. He actually shared at least some of that dirt with Rolling Stone, which stated in its reporting about his effort to tar DeSantis: “Rolling Stone is declining to repeat what Trump has said.”

Trump will do what he can to destroy the GOP if they just try to string him along rather than hold him accountable.  The question is whether Trump will destroy our republic in the process.

How would Trump destroy the Republic?

He just suggested another way to destroy the republic after inciting a violent mob to stop the peaceful transfer of power on January 6th 2021.  Why didn't you read his recent communication?

If it's true you should be able to provide evidence.

"Projection is the process of displacing one’s feelings onto a different person, animal, or object. The term is most commonly used to describe defensive projection—attributing one’s own unacceptable urges to another. For example, if someone continuously bullies and ridicules a peer about his insecurities, the bully might be projecting his own struggle with self-esteem onto the other person." Have you ever worked with psychiatric patients who use projection habitually? Trump uses projection habitually.

Please show us where he incited a mob to attack the Capitol?  Show me what he has done to eliminate the Constitution?  I can show you plenty of examples of Democrats trying to get rid of provisions of the 2nd amendment.  Are they trying to destroy the Republic?

Not going to relitigate the evidence gathered by the Jan. 6 committee. Nothing I can present here is going to correct deliberate ignorance and sloppy thinking

Finally, just for BMs and giggles, how is challenging the current interpretation of a constitution amendment the same as calling for the suspension of the constitution and installation of the loser as POTUS?

That’s because you have no evidence.  Challenging an interpretation?  Calling for banning guns liberals don’t like is the same as eliminating the constitutional right.  We could argue about interpretations on the first amendment all day long.   It’s the liberal Stalinist’s that are destroying the Republic.
