What do you always have in your scrub pockets?

What are the essential items that you carry in your scrub pockets? How many pockets do you like and where do you keep everything so you can always find what you need?

:coollook:

Penlight, bandage scissors, alcohol wipes, mini bottle of hand sanitizer, extra gloves, mini temporal thermometer (I hate chasing down the thermometer... wish I had my own pulse-ox too!), mini drug guide, mini nursing guide, a pen in every single pocket ( I always loose them and so does everyone else!), gum (shhh! it's a secret!) and a small package of Kleenex!!!

I know it's a lot of stuff (and I resemble the Michelin man with my white pants puffed with crap), but I'm really OCD about it. Everything goes in its own specific pocket.

I'm freakish all day if I forget something and, even with my 500 ink pens, I still manage to leave at the end of the day with only one left.

I have NO clue where they go!

As little as I can get away with. I LOATHE feeling like a kangaroo. I keep a pen, a sharpie, a penlight, my pt. info sheet and a VERY small notebook, but I usually just tear out a page or two from it.

One chest pocket (pen pocket) on the top, two regular hip pockets and two cargo pockets on the pants.

Pen pocket carries black ink pen, red ink pen, sharpie, penlight, highlighter.

Right hip pocket carries Itouch, left hip pocket carries alcohol wipes and maybe some gauze. Right cargo pocket carries Kardex and one sheet of blank computer paper all stapled together. Left cargo pocket carries stethoscope and flushes.

Specializes in ER, progressive care.

I have 2 scrub pockets (some of my scrub tops have 3rd pocket, which is smaller and I use that for pens and alcohol swabs). I always carry the two items I mentioned, plus penlight, scissors, a couple of those alligator IV end piece things, at least one saline flush, report sheet, chap stick. I also carry tape, but instead of keeping the tape in my pocket (because everything tends to get sticky) I put the roll on a pair of hemostats and then clamp those to my pant pocket. Sometimes I will put scissors on there too but I start making clanking noises as I walk, so I prefer not to do that.

And of course, my stethoscope goes around my neck.

Holy cow... no wonder I always feel like my pants are ready to fall down!

Emptying my pockets when I get home is like doing a magic trick. I just keep pulling and pulling and pulling junk out of my pockets!

LOL. I tried it once and never had it again. It was awful. I prefer the rubbing alcohol flavor of the Thunderbird.

The usual things: flash light, pen, scissors, gait belt, 3 bottles of 5 hr energy Max, 1 16 oz water bottle, 1 drug manual, 1 lab manual, 1 RN small binder, keys, wallet, X-large gloves, alcohol swabs, cotton balls, stethoscope, BP cuff in bag, (I'm sure there is more, but blank now).

I need a belt on my pants: they keep falling down!

Pen, notepad, pen light, cell phone, ipod touch, chapstick, alcohol swabs, bandage scissors, saline flush. I have 2 patch pockets on my scrub top, 2 cargo pockets on the pants. One of the pockrts has an inner pocket for your cell phone and a pen pocket.
