How often do you wash your scrubs? And when is the last time you bought a pair of new ones? Come on in fellas, I know you can hear me.

How often do you wash yours?

are you saying you wear your scrubs a second time without washing them? because that's just plain disgusting!

ewww, no that's not what i'm saying, lol.

i wear them once and put them in the laundry. some people choose to have only a few sets of scrubs so they need to wash them right away to wear the same ones again. i do laundry almost everyday, and could wear them again if i wanted to. i buy scrubs to mix and match, not often do i wear the same top and pants together again.

brillohead, you are correct. sorry if i grossed anyone out with the thought of that.

I toss them in the pile after wearing them and after that that magically disappear and come back clean. I think my husband has something to do with that but not sure

When I was working fulltime I'd probably buy a new scrub piece every month which works out to be a lot less than I used to spend in my non nursing job.

I love Koi scrubs and the scrub pants they sell at Walmart. I'm a high brow low brow kinda girl

Tell the Joint Commission you wash your scrubs twice a day that you whip down to the laundry room and wash them on your lunchbreak but your underwear those you just turn inside out and wear again.

I am not a nurse yet but my mother was. She used to have a special hamper in the hall closet right next to the back door that no one used. As soon as she walked through the door after every shift, she didn't dare walk in the house with her scrubs on but strip down to her underwear and throw them in a hamper in that closet and then immediately hit the shower. Let one of us try to touch her before she stripped:eek:.... ohh man not good. No one was to touch that specific hamper but her and them bad boys went through every single wash cycle available on our washer. She didn't play.[/quote Yeah, Mom! That is exactly what I have done for years.

I would lean in for an after work kiss tho.. without any other contact , but a quick smooch;)

*raising hand* - ok fine, i'll confess...

that i toss scrubs in dirty laundry with everyone else's clothes...

and wash in warm water, unless scrubs are white, then it's hot water with all other whites.

may be the *wrong* answer, but it's the truth and have never had any qualms about it.

op - admittedly, very odd question.

I also toss in the hamper with everything else. I also wash in warm, although I do wash them alone, but that is mainly because I use cold wash for most of my clothes!

I'm surprised no one's made death threats on this thread yet..

interesting thing I just learned today. Those Front Loading washers- if you do not leave the door open occasionally and also use those rinses advertised on TV...apparently get standing water and can breed bacteria... which can be deposited on scrubs...which can transmit germs to people. it sounds like a nutty story but apparently it has happened.

I wash mine once a week when I wash the rest of our clothes. I wash it all together in hot water. I hang dry my scrubs. I do iron them. I don't EVER wear them more than once. YUCK!:barf01:
