Washing those scrubs?

Published

How often do you wash your scrubs? And when is the last time you bought a pair of new ones? Come on in fellas, I know you can hear me.

Why does Joint Commission give a crap if I wash my scrubs with a family member's clothes? They're certainly not concerned for my family, are they? And probably not worried about cross contaminating my scrubs with another family member's clothes - I can't imagine a much more disgusting job than mine lol

Funny thing about Joint Commission lately. They now have Competition. There are a few other regulatory inspectors out there now (I know, I did not know this) so now, they are actually working to be a little more "user friendly" (One of our big big hospital systems in Florida recently went with "the other group" (name I have forgotten) so I guess JC is going to get nicer.

I just wash my scrubs with all the other clothes. I do take them off right away after coming home. One girl did tell me that she didn't wash her scrubs every time she wore them. I thought that was a little gross

[color=#ee82ee]i wear the prettiest sexiest scrubs i can one size too tight is best and i use expensive perfume because i know dr. mcdreamy loves it i can tell by the way he looks at me like i'm not wearing any scrubs at all so maybe it doesn't matter but anyway so i don't wash them too often because the perfume is so expensive i don't want to waste it but my supervisor is a bitter old bag and shes jealous of my beauty and because my father is on the board of the hospital and she'll loose her license if she hassels me about my beauty and the way dr. mcdreamy likes me better than her.

My land, are you serious? Wash after every wear in hot water! I don't own that many so my scrubs basically get washed weekly.

As for when I last bought, I had to buy scrubs specific for school clinical this past week. For reasons other than school, though, I haven't bought in oh, 3 years or so?

I read this as wash after every year. LOL

It has always been my dreeeeeaaaam to be a nurse, but.....I only have one pair of scrubs and I don't have a washing machine. My partying takes up so much of my off time that I can only make it to the laundromat once every couple of weeks. Do you think this is gross?

Straight in the washer after every shift with hot water and bleach, kept separate.

Have 3 sets, all bought at the thrift shop. I am NOT spending money to get blood, sweat and tears on my scrubs.

Amen! All mine are from thrift stores. They work just fine. I have found plenty of cute, used scrubs as well. I don't understand why you would spend the extra cash on something that is constantly coming in contact with soo many germy things! (yuck). And were very affordable! :)

And yes! wash them after each shift!!!!

How dare you try to insult people who wear tight scrubs!!!! It's my body!!!!! I can show my lower cleavage if I want to. I think you must be jealous of me even though you've never met me and will probably never will.

But you see I was skinny when I left the house by the time I got to work I was fat again. I don't know what went wrong?

Just the thought of going to work makes me gain another 25 pounds! Soon, I'll have to buy another collection of larger-sized scrubs.

I own so many scrubs it is shameful. I do laundry about once a month and I work full time (3 days/week). So you can imagine how many scrub sets I have. I bought a new pair about a month and a half ago. I'm finding I prefer Butter Soft by Uniform Advantage over Grey's Anatomy.

Oh, I forgot to add that I throw my dirty scrubs in my hamper with all my other clothes. My BF has his own seperate laundry basket for whenever he does his laundry (never...). Lol So, the dirty scrubs sit for about a month UNLESS they get soiled while at work then I'd change at work - put the dirty scrubs in a bag and maybe wash them my next day off.
