I Was written up today for forgetting things I am so upset I can not stop crying:crying2: , I had cryed all day about it ! Long story short I have so med problems and had some problems with my last surgery I forgot how to read some words, have lots of problems writhing and remembering things l also forget what day it is all the time and who my co-workers are and I tend to just go blank and when I come out of it I do remember what I was doing and will do the same thing over and over again .

I was told that the wright up was to make me think about what I am doing ,But how ccan I do that what I truly have no idea what I have done ?? I really want to go back to school to be an RN and I think case mag. would be good for me but how am I going to that ? I went and looked into classes I would almost have to start all over ..

I called an tharpy place today "still sodding on the phone" and got nowhere I am just so upset , my boss is planing to come sit with me tomorrow what am I going to do when she sees me blank out and stair at the walls ??? she will flip out and then I will be fired !!!!

i'm really sorry about your anxieties.

but as stated, it is just not realistic for you to do any type of nursing, given the present status of your deficits.

has a dr ever given you a reason for your blanking out?

what i do know, is if i ever had problems that'd impact the care i gave as a nurse, i would willingly give up on nursing...

as a wannabe nurse or otherwise.

it'd be instinctive, i know that.

please focus on yourself now, and try to get answers and tx for your ailments.

any concerns that pop up, write it down...date and time too.

keep a journal on prn basis, i.e., jotting down random incidents, concerns....stuff you'd want to remember and follow through with.

i wish the very best for you.

First, I am curious as to why exactly you were written up? And are you a nursing student, Cna, ??? Are you having trouble passing meds, or trouble with your own meds? I agree with the others, that your post was a little difficult to understand. Also, I agree that you really need to get yourself into a neuro quick before things get any worse. It is clear that nursing is something you love. However, you need to take care of yourself before you can start caring for others. And not to be harsh of anything, but I would not want someone who cannot remember caring for my loved one. Keep your head held high though.

I pray that you continue to follow your dream, BUT first get yourself some help.

Based on your latest post, I would say that you definitely need to contact a physician and request a full neuro workup. Other than that, no medical advice here, but what you're describing is very alarming to me.

They think it's my Bp droping out ,and that no blood gos to my brain when it happens .I will also get these really bad headaches that will go away if I lay flat . But I really think that the drug they used to put me to sleep last time I had surgery did something. The worst thing is I have to have surgery again and I am scard that I will wake up worse .

No real advice, but I read it all - best of luck. I do agree that you need to take care of yourself before you can properly care for others. Hopefully they are correct on their thoughts and you can now get the treatment you need.

By med I meant med problems not "pills"

And I did want to be an diabetes educator "there is a blind woman that does it so i know it can be done by a low vision persion" but then found out you need to be an rn to do that . So I started looking into case mag. And I liked that to .

I did go over to sign up for classes but I was told I would kind of have to start over from the beginning , so now I am trying to find beginner classes I can take .

And yes I do have low vision and a guide dog witch is why I Do not drive:lol2:

Big hugs to you. It would be difficult to want to be a nurse and not be able to fulfill your dreams. Who knows what the future holds. Get yourself taken care of first and then revisit it down the road. I work with a nurse with low vision and worked with one with a hearing aids. Both did well at their jobs, but first they had to address their issues. Nurses can't help others until they help themselves first.

Is this for real??? This is so strange that it is hard to believe. If you are telling the truth...I apologize, and wish you the best.

> I agree with everyone else. You have to take care of yourself before your can help others.

My story isn't quite as drastic as yours, but last fall I was in a CNA class and had a wreck midway through, breaking my knee. Unfortunately, it wasn't healed enough when clinical time came so I had to sit those out. It sucked, yea, I even cried a little, but my teacher worked with me and got me in with the spring group.

My point, I guess, is that I couldn't realistically care for the residents/patients when I, myself, had a serious injury. It's kind of hard to keep someone from falling if you are on crutches :D You need to take some time to get your life and health in order so that when you ARE able to pursue nursing, you'll be able to do it to the best of your ability.

Good luck, and I'll be shooting prayers your way

Please keep us updated and we are curious as to why you got wrote up. If it's a health reason, seems they shouldn't have done that. =/

Not to sound mean to you but I believe in real talk and not giving anyone sugar coated BS

Short and simple to the point: You have to get yourself together mentally before you can continue successfully in your current job, any other job, nursing school, an RN program, etc....

You have a write up so now develop an action plan so that you don't get another one.

Some things might be like getting your meds straight, seeking professional help if you have any emotional issues that you need to take care of.

Don't be embarrassed if you do decide to speak with someone as a therapist, counselor, etc...

This is something everybody does if they have a problem they want to fix. I mean, you see a doctor when you are sick right?

The only time you should be embarrassed is if you continue to display unstable behavior and don't seek help for it.

Everybody has issues. That's normal. It only becomes CRAZY when you don't seek help for those issues.

So in short, get your mind right, excel in your current position, and if you put in the hard work you will become an RN. If you don't do it, it only means you don't want to be an RN bad enough.

What do you find "hard to believe" that someone with Disabilities would want to work as a nurse ? granted there are lots of people with Disabilities that just sit at home , that is not for me I love to work and just fyi most ssdi checks are between $600-1200 could you live on that ? I can't !

I would love to know what kind of ades they used at there job ?

And as for the other question I work doing orders for the va and gov. / millary I was written up for for forgetting to put in the right dates ,and not checking the right boxes on orders I was doing . when this happens I get very confused and will just relese stuff and have no memory of what I have done .
