Whether you're in support of the COVID vaccine, against it,  or on the fence please use this particular thread to cite credible, evidence-based sources to share with everyone so we can engage in a discussion that revolves around LEARNING.

I'll start:

The primary concerns I've shared with others have to do with how effective the vaccine is for those who have already been infected.  I've reviewed studies and reports in that regard.  There are medical professionals I've listened to that, in my personal opinion,  don't offer a definitive answer.

Here are some links to 2 different, I'll start with just 2:

Can you imagine taking hours out of your day to drive to Dallas to witness such a thing? And is there any trace of discomfort at all when it begins to dawn on them that he's probably not coming? No thought whatsoever that someone lied to them?

As if a Kennedy would have anything to do with Donald Trump. Another debacle for the QLoons.

I just listened to a TED type presentation by Dr Dunning which discusses this phenomenon. If you are interested in the subject it's worth a GO.

That all adds to the mystery and conspiratorial theorizing that stimulates the crowd.

Like the MyPillow genius who offered a $5M bonus to anyone who could disprove his claims of election fraud, then quietly withdrew the offer when his own hired experts found nothing.

Gentle reminder to please stick to the topic of valid reason to not get vaccinated. Political discussions should be moved to the Politics Club in the Breakroom.

Excellent point.

I peruse this thread periodically to see if anybody posts one.  Pretty sure if it hasn't happened yet, it won't happen.  But, I'll keep checking.

Those political references are precisely why there's a thread supposing that there are valid reasons to not vaccinate.  Just saying...

My conspiracy theorist brother in law and his similarly-minded nurse wife sadly came down with COVID last week. Both are hospitalized. Both still feel the vaccine is a way to get people to be guinea pigs, ignoring that this type of vaccine has been tested for years (not COVID but the technology). All I said is I hope you get better soon.

My aunt died of COVID last Summer. Her own daughters refuse to vaccinate. One got COVID and was sick for 5 weeks. In her words, she "has never felt worse in her entire life".  And the result? She feels like she in invincible now.

Sometimes it's best to keep my mouth shut. If this being so ill they have to be hospitalized (or have family members die) is not enough to convince them, nothing I say will ever be. I have other things to worry about. Like all my grandchildren who are too young to be vaccinated. I focus on them.

This is all of my family in the midwest. They are deeply indoctrinated into a belief about this pandemic that has very little to do with actual facts or evidence.  It's nearly a new religion, this new conservatism of thought.

Thanks for posting Dr. Dunning's lecture.  I'm still befuddled why people fall for disinformation but found out that people are actually more stupid than I thought:)  The comment section is also enlightening.

Must be a Midwestern phenomenon. All the family members I speak of are located in Wisconsin and Illinois. I am far away in the Pacific Northwest.

I'm in the NW and half of hubby's family is this way. They don't trust science, yet there are 3 with type 1 dm. They depend on the new insulins and continuous glucose monitoring but science is too political.

It's prevalent in rural Nevada. Some of my colleagues and I were tasked with talking with employees at one of our rural facilities to encourage vaccination. I would have gotten about as far having a conversation with the wall.
