Whether you're in support of the COVID vaccine, against it, or on the fence please use this particular thread to cite credible, evidence-based sources to share with everyone so we can engage in a discussion that revolves around LEARNING.
I'll start:
The primary concerns I've shared with others have to do with how effective the vaccine is for those who have already been infected. I've reviewed studies and reports in that regard. There are medical professionals I've listened to that, in my personal opinion, don't offer a definitive answer.
Here are some links to 2 different, I'll start with just 2:

Reduced Risk of Reinfection with SARS-CoV-2 After COVID-19 Vaccination — Kentucky, May–June 2021

It seems there are probably innumerable situations in which "it's stupid to argue with experts" just lacks nuance to a point of fault.
OK. But it's stupid to argue with public health experts during a public health emergency...that's just basic information...it's not smart...it doesn't reflect critical thought or sound reasoning.

Of course you meant what you wrote, so did I. You are making your point over...so that's okay isn't it? I would like to point out that I didn't comment on heartache. I commented on the notion that not complying with public health recommendations during an emergency is not the same as personal or individual disagreement. If you don't understand that nuance I'm happy to discuss it more fully.

As someone who has received vax 1, 2 and now 3, my post was simply a comment related to the intricacies of humanity. It would be fine to just leave it at that.
It's always fine to leave it at that or to comment, like you did...it's a discussion forum.

People didn't refuse to make sacrifices for WW II and I don't know why we should start refusing now. These are such SMALL sacrifices! The unvaccinated have been told that they are victims of tyranny and government overreach. They'd rather be outraged and angry victims than responsible patriots, presumably because of their politics and media preferences.

Because any other reaction would require THINKING. Maybe if we did make it illegal, the thoughtless would finally rebel against thoughtlessness.
I watched an interview with Rodgers. It's good that he's a football player and not in charge of something important, IMV.

Your comments are noted. I have made a few starts at replies and it turns out my thoughts are not fit for being published at this time.
Your post - the one to which the two felt it necessary to "nah" - was thoughtful and kind.

Sure they got the vaccine and that is beneficial to them and the society in whole, but they will not feel good about getting the vaccine and resentful about it. But hey at least they got it. So all is good.
Yes, it definitely is all good. Those who avoided getting vaccinated had absolutely zero regard for how WE felt, didn't care about OUR resentment.
I have the same total lack of concern over their feelings and resentments as they had for mine.
I believe in The Golden Rule and assume everyone else does as well. So I'll assumed that the unvaxxed have demonstrated how they wish to be treated. I'll grant them their wish.
Maybe before you start calling people who have not received the vaccine names etc. why don't you look at one many reason people think they do not need to get it. Could it be the conflicting mandate from the president which exempts members of congress along with their staff, the US Postal Service, companies under 100 employees, public assistance recipients and illegal immigrants. Some might see these exemptions as a reason that the vaccine is not really needed. Can any of you who are getting on the unvaccinated say why they must get the mandate with leaders & their staffs of the US do not? Many posters on this blog have stated science behind the reason to get the vaccine but can you show the science behind the exempts that are in the mandate. Everyone knows that the answer is no, so until the powers to be use science to make mandates people who think for themselves will question why do I need to get it when the person standing next to me does not.
This mandate as written basically says I have the power to say who has to get the vaccine and who doesn't.
Before everyone jumps all over this post with their self righteous responses take a look at yourself to see if maybe, just maybe your actions/comments are also drive people away from getting the vaccine.

I've looked at the silly, stupid and pseudoscience excuses for not vaccinating. Why don't they look at the facts and science now for a change rather than chasing social media quacks for their health advice?

No. But that's an excuse used by social conservatives to not vaccinate because it echos in their propaganda outlets.

They are wrong and their deductive reasoning is deeply flawed if that's true...again that's a result of consuming antivaxx propaganda and nonsense.

That looks like you are believing conjecture and assumption and possibly conspiracy theory...I don't see any facts or evidence attached to that excuse or claim or whatever you want to call it.

What does that bunch of words mean to you or what are you trying to communicate with them? You seem to be confused as to the purpose of public health mandates, that's also reflective of a media diet filled with misinfmation and propaganda.

Prove it...come on...produce the language which demonstrates that this isn't at best a misrepresentation and at worst straightforward propaganda.

Looked at myself. Nope, I didn't drive anyone away from vaccination...they were already decided and anxious to rant in my direction and insist that I needed to do more research. Don't blame the vaccinated for the choices of the unvaccinated...that's garbage and the unvaccinated aren't victims.

If a pandemic were easy, we wouldn't have to think so much:) I DO get it about being resentful about mandates. It would be better if people turned that around and contemplated how lucky they are to live in a country with seemingly unlimited access to the vaccine. Right wing news outlets just fan that resentment so just turn it off. We are pretty pampered compared to the rest of the world.
