UW Transfer BSN 2019

Published

Hello! I'm posting here to get any feedback from previous UWSoN students or current prenursing students who are applying for the 2019 cohort. A little bit about me is that I'm currently a student at OC in Washington, my prereq GPA for UW's required classes is about a 3.81 and my cumulative GPA is a 3.7. I have been working as a CNA/Medication assistant for almost half a year and will be continuing working until I move to Seattle for school. Any advice is greatly appreciated on housing, how to study for the proctored essay, and any way to better my chances! Thank you!

Got my invite!! Congrats to those who made it through to the next round. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday ?

Hello, Ive been looking at this thread for a while now but have decided to participate now that I have received my essay invite; it is so daunting for me to see so many experienced and passionate applicants on here but it only confirms my belief that UWs program is one of the best out there. Good luck to everyone!

Got my invite!! Can't wait to see everyone on Wednesday. April 19th can't come soon enough.

I may have missed it in the e-mail that the future nurses Facebook page sent out, but does anyone know if they give the conversions on the math portion of the essay? I read on a previous year's forum that they do, but I wanted to confirm. I just know myself and only having an hour to get it all done will cause me to panic and forget all of the conversions.

Congratulations to everyone who got an invite. For those who didn't, keep pushing. Do not give up on yourself and your goals. You can do it!!

Hey all!

I also got an invitation! I'd like to say I'll see you next week but I opted for the remote proctor since I'm stuck in the east side of the state with this weather.

If anyone has that info sheet I'd also like to see it.

Good luck everyone!

Hello, can someone, please, send me or post the proctored essay information from Facebook. I did not receive the email. Thank you.

Hi all,

I have been reading this thread for a while but am jumping on it finally since I got my invitation today! I would love to see that info sheet as well if anyone has it! On previous year's threads they said that the youtube channel RegisteredNurseRN has videos to help with the conversions.

Did anyone else apply to Seattle U as well? I have my interview there next Thursday ?

I applied to SU as well and have my interview on 2/19. ? Good luck!

Just got email with invite to proctored essay. Yay. One step forward. Good luck everyone

Does anyone here have the information that was sent out for the proctored essay?? We would love to see what I for they gave. Thanks in advance

Here's the document I got for the proctored essay from the Facebook page. I wish it had given a patient scenario example and whether or not we get the conversions, but here it is!

Just got my essay invite! I'm super thankful for this forum for tips on completing the essay. A little about me, I'm currently working per diem as a CNA at an assisted living facility, but just accepted a position at a local hospital for a more consistent schedule. I have 3 kids (including twins!), and just brought a puppy home. Add in school, work, and volunteering, and my life is chaos but it's good prep for nursing!

To all you new and lovely people, welcome!! Also blue, Acker and NICURN, glad to see you guys made it through.
For the practice problems on the info sheet, I got 1 tablet, 2 tablets, and 8 mg as my answers. Anyone else?

I've been trying problems on dosagehelp.com without much success. I understand how to set up the problem , but when it comes to the actual process of dividing 9.028/13.909 (for example) without a calculator, I get kind of stumped. I could of course learn how to divide/multiply decimals again...but do we have to? Eh?
