  1. @kingleo adding on to this because I had only 110 hours of shadowing a nurse, and no other healthcare experience, and I also didn’t have a CNA license. I do have years of unrelated work experience, and in my interview I was able to explain why I thought the skills I learned there would relate to nursing, and I think that helped!
  2. Honestly, I was so stressed during the interview so I don't remember exactly what they asked! But I would definitely be ready to talk about why you want to be a nurse and why you like SU specifically. And if you're going to use any "buzzwords," like social justice, it's okay, but you have to be able to back it up with evidence! Don't throw stuff out there if it isn't really true. I would bring at least one question to ask at the end, but make it a question that isn't just easily answered by going on the website. I had read the entire college of nursing website many times over, and I think it impressed them that I knew so much. Lastly, and this sounds obvious, but show up 10-15 minutes early! If your interview is on the 4th floor of Garrand (that's the nursing building), there's a seating area outside of the elevator that they'll come get you from. (I think I had to check-in at the main office first though. I can't remember exactly, but they'll give you those instructions in the email.) This might be overkill, but I put my phone away ~3 minutes before my scheduled time because I didn't want to look bored messing around on my phone when the interviewer came to get me! Hope this helps!
  3. Hey everyone! I wanted to jump on and offer to answer any questions you might have about the interview/acceptance process ? I'm a current junior transfer student at SU, and relied heavily on this forum to get me through the process last year! Someone did this for me last year, so I wanted to offer it to you all as well! Feel free to message me or ask in the thread ?
  4. Oh! I'm so behind haha! Could you put a link here to it or tell me the name?
  5. I just requested to be added!! Sorry you won't be able to make it tomorrow I can send you any important info if we get any! ?
  6. Hopefully I will get to meet some of you tomorrow at the admitted students thing! Maybe we could coordinate the creation of a facebook group or something of the like at the event ?
  7. Is anyone planning on going to the admitted students event on the 24th? And if so, are you bringing family? In the RSVP section, you can indicate # of guests ?
  8. Did not get in ? congratulations to all who did, it must have been a very competitive year!! I did get in to SU though, so if any of you decide to go there, I’ll see you in the fall! ?
  9. Hm, I didn't get an email last week but maybe it is the same then! I know they sent interview invites out in batches so maybe your email will be in the next round. I'm sure it doesn't mean anything because everyone will need to know their results either way. Fingers crossed you get the email in the next few hours! If not, maybe call admissions because maybe they messed up your email address or something!
  10. Hi, it looks like this and I received it at 2:04 pm. Maybe check in junk mail?
  11. Nope sounds like the way mine looks too!
  12. Eeeek did anyone else just get that email about them changing their server for admissions & lose their mind?? Not cool to send that email so close to the notification day haha
  13. Okay! Thank you for the information!! Fingers crossed for us all ????
