UW Transfer BSN 2019
@adri.aco I was told a couple of weeks ago that those on the waitlist will receive an e-mail from you about a week after the 26th, notifying us if we moved up on the list. I know if we are admitted, we will receive a phone call and e-mail, but I was curious if you've already made those calls or when it will happen. Thank you!

When do you guys have to submit your acceptance form by? Just trying to get an idea as to when I should start calling for updates on the waitlist. Thank you!

UW Transfer BSN 2019
@sm38 Thank you for replying. I am aware of UW’s general admission decision date. I guess I’m more concerned of the waitlist not moving up before that date and should I get a spot in the BSN program, which will assist me getting into UW general, as previous comments said, very rarely do applicants get denied from UW general once admitted into the SoN. Hope that makes sense. Thank you again!

What about if we are waitlisted? Does that affect our general UW admissions at all? Since the waitlist can move, all the way up to right before Fall quarter starts, I'm worried I won't get accepted into UW before I know about the SoN admissions. Versus the other way around where being accepted to the SoN will help with the general admissions.

Waitlisted, #6... I'm not really sure how to feel, mostly due to having to wait even longer for a final decision. Congrats to everyone who made it in!!

Will they stick to the metric system or have us convert between systems? Does anyone have an idea?

UW Transfer BSN 2019
I like the registerednursern.com site for practice questions. They have a practice quiz that has been helpful. I really hope that the proctored essay uses numbers that give us whole numbers for the answers, not decimals. I won't survive without a calculator if we have to divide decimals, multiplying I can do (takes forever), but there just isn't enough time to divide decimals lol.

Here's the document I got for the proctored essay from the Facebook page. I wish it had given a patient scenario example and whether or not we get the conversions, but here it is! Proctored essay.docx

UW Transfer BSN 2019
Got my invite!! Can't wait to see everyone on Wednesday. April 19th can't come soon enough. I may have missed it in the e-mail that the future nurses Facebook page sent out, but does anyone know if they give the conversions on the math portion of the essay? I read on a previous year's forum that they do, but I wanted to confirm. I just know myself and only having an hour to get it all done will cause me to panic and forget all of the conversions. Congratulations to everyone who got an invite. For those who didn't, keep pushing. Do not give up on yourself and your goals. You can do it!!

UW Transfer BSN 2019
Hi everyone! It's getting closer to the proctored essay so I thought I would check in. Thank you berserk_angel & bluepurplegreen for the reassurance. I'm trying to let it go and accept that whatever happens, happens. I have just put this off for a few years now, so I really want this year to be the year I finally begin my nursing career. I forgot to put my stats in last time, so here they are: Prereq. GPA is 3.85, with Microbiology left to take (Spring 2019). I received my first Bachelor's in 2014, majoring in Cultural Anthropology and have since been working with an agency who supports adults living with developmental disabilities. The last 3 years, I have been working in a supervisory position with the agency that has given me over 6,000 hours of leadership experience. I have worked as an NA-R for an adult family home to those who have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS (~1,525 hours under an RN & LPN), I also included my 35 clinical hours for the CNA program (cause every little bit counts and I had the opportunity to complete them at the hospital vs. a nursing home), and last summer I volunteered for 2 weeks in the Dominican Republic at 2 local maternity hospitals (50 hours). Currently, I work on the weekends at a rehabilitation center that has given me 184 hours. I also volunteer every week with the local Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault center, providing medical advocacy to sexual assault survivors (about 800 hours). The two areas that concern me the most with my application are repeating classes and my letter of rec. I have had to retake gen. chem., human A&P, and I will be re-taking micro. However, I have only had to retake the classes once and I achieved a 4.0 in gen. chem. and the A&P series the 2nd time around. Also, the nurse who did my recommendation is from the rehab center I work at on the weekends and I have only been there since October, so I am worried that she wasn't able to answer the Q's in much depth simply because she doesn't know me too well. So we will see. Fingers crossed!!

UW Transfer BSN 2019
Hi everyone. I'm new to this thread, but I recently submitted my application for UW's BSN program. Let me just say, I am terrified. Just when I think I did alright, I read about previous years' acceptance rates and I get panicky all over again. The worse for me is thinking that I forgot something or that I missed one tiny detail in their application instructions, something so small that could cost me from being admitted. I'm rooting for everyone on here and hoping for the best!

Chances of Getting into Nursing School?
Hello! I am new to the forum, but as a prospective nursing student I have a lot of questions. I know that this question has been asked multiple times and it can never fully be answered with certainty or fully, but I thought it would worth a shot to describe my own personal situation. Alright so here we go.... My educational background consists of the Running Start Program at my hometown's community college where I did receive an Associate's of Arts and graduated with a 3.9 GPA. I took classes everywhere from art history to medical genetics to precalc. to introductory anthropology courses - so my background there is broad, but solid. My high school GPA was a 3.6 (not sure if that will matter). Anyways, I transferred to a university within my state and began taking even more science courses as well as classes for my anthropology major. My first quarter here (away from my family for the first time) was severely rough. So long story short, I passed, but barely. Winter quarter I ended with a 3.8 so things were looking up. Spring quarter I took another turn for the worse and did not do well in my microbiology course. I then took organic chemistry in the summer and ended with a B-. I am in my senior year now where I will take the human A&P series and nutrition course. Currently my cumulative GPA is a 3.0 Okay so now that you had to read all of that, I will ask my question. After graduation I plan to take a year off to work, volunteer, and re-take general chemistry, organic chemistry, and microbiology as well as a couple supporting courses to only boost my chances of admission. So as long as I do really well (>3.5) in that year after graduation at a community college, will I have a chance at a BSN or ABSN program? I know that schools have to count my previous classes into my overall GPA, but taking a look at individual classes, do I still have a chance? Thank you so much for reading all of this and taking the time to reply.
