UW Seattle Fall 2022 BSN
Hi, friends! Congratulations to everyone who got accepted and/or is on the waitlist ? I initially started this thread because I was dead-set on applying to UW, but I was accepted into an accelerated BSN program in Columbus and I actually just moved all the way to Ohio! I'll be starting my program in August, and if anyone has a desire or is willing to move out of state, my program has rolling admission and it is MUCH less competitive. They have a high NCLEX pass rate, and 2 different accelerated options (one is 18 months and one is 13 months). If anyone is interested I'd be happy to share more info. Good luck! Keep your heads up, you can all do this! Cheers, Cassidy

UW Seattle Fall 2022 BSN
Hi @stacy321! I'm happy you're reapplying this year! That seems like a common experience for a lot of applicants at UW. It sounds like you have a definite shot at being accepted! I am applying to a few schools in the area-- UW, SPU, and likely Shoreline CC. I am also applying for a Distance ABSN program at Emory, so I could still live in Seattle. I will also be applying to one or two schools in Columbus, Ohio because my partner has family out there. ? (The schools there are MUCH MUCH less competitive). Good luck to you as well!

UW Seattle Fall 2022 BSN
Hi future nurses ? I have started to submit materials to all of the schools that I am applying to this year (yippie!) and saw that the University of Washington's BSN program application opened today. I thought it might be fun to start a thread for this cohort of applicants for questions, comments, worries, etc. I am a post-bacc student with a sub-par GPA (3.1 undergrad in Sociology with a 3.6 pre-requisite GPA). I previously earned my CNA license in another state, and I am hoping to get it reinstated in Washington here in the next couple of weeks... and hopefully get some CNA work experience. I'd love to hear from anyone about their application experiences with UW in the past! Let's chat ?

ABSN Programs with a lower cumulative GPA?
Hi friends! ? I'm a recent graduate of an undergrad program with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.9. My prereq GPA however is in the mid to high 3.0's, with a great chance of improvement over the next semester. The last two semesters of my degree took place in 2020, where I was truthfully experiencing the most intense, debilitating anxiety of my whole life. Otherwise, my GPA would have been in the lower 3-3.5 range. I'm looking at pursuing nursing post-bac now, with some experience earning my CNA, and more recently working as a Medical Scribe. I am a Type 1 Diabetic and I'm very passionate about working with other diabetics, as I know how difficult it can be to navigate the healthcare system can be with this disease. I come from a background of theatre performance as well, and while talking with other healthcare professionals, they have noted that though my GPA may not be stellar, I have a diverse, interesting background and a solid understanding of my drive and passion to go into nursing. ALL of that being said, I'm interested where everyone is applying to ABSN programs with lower GPAs (or just regular GPAs, whatever!) I have landed on these 5, but would add a couple more if I can afford to! Oshkosh ABSN Emory d-ABSN Seattle U UCCS ABSN The University of Washington ABSN Concordia University Irvine I really would like to get into nursing next year or the following year if it's feasible.... Any advice that anyone has for me would be fantastic. Or even just a fellow pre-nursing student to chat with! Good luck with your nursing journey. ?

Emory University Nursing / D-ABSN Spring 2022
Hi, friends and future nurses ? I'm currently living in Seattle proper and have found a few ABSN programs that are online, and one of them is Emory! I found this thread and thought I might try and chat with you guys on the application process, your stats (if you feel comfortable sharing them), and any other advice you have! I am not a particularly competitive candidate for nursing school, as my overall cumulative GPA from my undergraduate degree last year is at 3.0, though my pre-requisite grades are much higher, around 3.7. I became a CNA 3 years ago in Colorado, and my license just expired, though I have thought about reinstating it in Washington to get more experience. I also contacted a local medical clinic here and am in the process of volunteering for them. I have also volunteered with the Crisis Text Line in the past. Thanks, ya'll! Good luck with applications and nursing school! ?
