Hi future nurses ? I have started to submit materials to all of the schools that I am applying to this year (yippie!) and saw that the University of Washington's BSN program application opened today. I thought it might be fun to start a thread for this cohort of applicants for questions, comments, worries, etc. I am a post-bacc student with a sub-par GPA (3.1 undergrad in Sociology with a 3.6 pre-requisite GPA). I previously earned my CNA license in another state, and I am hoping to get it reinstated in Washington here in the next couple of weeks... and hopefully get some CNA work experience. I'd love to hear from anyone about their application experiences with UW in the past! Let's chat ?

Hi,
I too plan to (re-)apply this year; I applied last year and was not accepted. Completed my pre-req's at UW, and have 2 years (ongoing 3yrs) experience as a CNA at the UWMC, and I am now working at SCH.
Are you planning to apply to any other schools in the area?
Best of luck to you!
Hi @stacy321! I'm happy you're reapplying this year! That seems like a common experience for a lot of applicants at UW. It sounds like you have a definite shot at being accepted! I am applying to a few schools in the area-- UW, SPU, and likely Shoreline CC. I am also applying for a Distance ABSN program at Emory, so I could still live in Seattle. I will also be applying to one or two schools in Columbus, Ohio because my partner has family out there. ? (The schools there are MUCH MUCH less competitive). Good luck to you as well!

Hi everyone!
My name is ilhan and I am also applying to the BSN at UW. I am not applying to any other schools but just UW. I have Bachelors degree in non nursing related field but on public health. I hope we all get accepted please keep me in your prayers and I will do the same. We are in this together but we got this period.

I submitted my application and received my email from the proctored essay next week. How is everyone doing?!
I am just stressed out and worrying about the proctor essay. It’s just hard not knowing what the topic is about and what they are looking for. Having it timed makes it hard as well but all we can do is practice and prepare.

Hi Ilhan,
I know this is very stressful I am also super stressed out but what we do know is there won't be a math portion like last year. I think you should research social determinants of health I have a feeling that's what the essay will be about since that's what the application was about. Hope this helps!
OK thanks @Nimco.

Hey all,
Completed my essay a few hours ago and was kind of thrown that Proctorio wasn’t used. I had anticipated it and prepared for it. Was worried after that my essay wouldn’t be considered. ---------------------------- was super quick to respond to my email and reassure me that they decided not to use Proctorio this year. Huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Wishing everyone the best of luck! ???

Hey Moh,
Everything kinda out of our hands now. Just gotta find comfort in the anxiety. Glad we have this forum to know the feelings are mutual!
Just checked the portal and my application now says it’s complete and under review. Anyone else? ? The waiting is killing me.
