Hello! I'm posting here to get any feedback from previous UWSoN students or current prenursing students who are applying for the 2019 cohort. A little bit about me is that I'm currently a student at OC in Washington, my prereq GPA for UW's required classes is about a 3.81 and my cumulative GPA is a 3.7. I have been working as a CNA/Medication assistant for almost half a year and will be continuing working until I move to Seattle for school. Any advice is greatly appreciated on housing, how to study for the proctored essay, and any way to better my chances! Thank you!
Hi everyone! Glad to have found you all. About me: This is my second time applying to UW's BSN program. I applied last year and completed the proctored essay, but I did not make the final cut. I also decided to apply to Seattle University this year which will be my first time applying there. I have completed all my prereqs and have a 3.9 prereq/natural world GPA and a cumulative GPA of 3.2. Unfortunately, I have poor prior grades from when I went to college over 10 years ago which is why my cumulative GPA is so low. As for healthcare experience, I am an LPN and have been working full-time as a nurse for the past 7 years... which puts me at around 13,400 hours of healthcare experience (Holy smokes! That makes me feel a little old haha). Good luck to everyone! Hoping we hear if we made it through to the proctored essay soon!
^^^^THIS. Normally I love snow, but it's been a bit *much* and I'm starting to feel some cabin fever....Every feasible event is cancelled and my clinic has been either closed or operating on limited hours with very few patients showing up.
And nope, haven't heard anything about the essay! I was just telling my friend the other day that I really hope these snowstorms hasn't been causing the admissions committee any delay in reviewing our apps. Y'all can work from home or something but we need to hear back about that essay LOL
edit: it seems like last year the essay was the 21st and people started getting emails the 14th. Just a couple more days people...
Hi All,
Me and my team are working very hard to preliminarily review all of the applications so that we can get the invitations out. The snow closures have definitely thrown some wrenches at our timeline, but i'm hoping to get them out as soon as possible!
Working from home does limit our resources which slows down the reviews a bit, as well as reviewers also trying to get our graduate admissions back on track. My goal is no later than Thursday morning.
Thank you all for your patience!
