UT houston spring 2010 hopefuls

Published

hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.

Can't wait to hear from others.

i was hoping they would send out the letters at least a few days earlier than the 15th.... hm...maybe utlink will still change way before then? i just don't want to accept another offer when i will just have to call and cancel my acceptance just a week later (that is if i even get into uth)

you would think they would try to send all the letters and expect a reply back on or around the same day...

That would just be way too easy. I bet they still update utlink before we get out letters. Even if it is 2 days before that I'll be happy. I'm seriously stressed about not knowing because I just like to plan things out and right I feel like my life doesn't have a direction. It's all in my head though and we should know soon.

I'm thinking the same thing though would you necessarily decline an offer based on the UTlink status change alone, prior to letters being sent? Sounds pretty risky :(

there's no reason for UTLINK to change to provisional acceptance (which is what it will change to if you're accepted) if your acceptance letter isn't in the mail

I agree...if your UT Link changes you are in...and you could always call up there to verify after your UT Link changes. One person on here earlier was told by UT that they would have letters mailed out by the end of next week at the latest. That is Nov 13th (Friday) I dont know why they said the 15th which is a sunday? From previous threads your UT Link changes before. So I think we should start stalking hard core next week....LOL I will..

Hey guys! Just to ease your mind a little, for our class, UTLink changed before we got the acceptance letters. And if it says provisional acceptance, you're in. You just may need to send your shot records or final transcripts or some other paper work, but you are in. Good Luck!!

ps. there is a very long complicated story as to why the wait listed/spring applicants got in, and most of them will actually be your classmates...don't let the rumors discourage you. :stdnrsrck:

I'm sure we would love to hear what happened :D

Thanks for the heads up!

Rachelerin- would you happen to know how many slots were filled by waitlisted people from the fall? I am just curious...also how many were accepted into your class? Thanks for all the awesome info thus far...its very helpful

thanks for the awesome info, strosgirl!

i am in the same boat as ali, i hope UT informs us soon.

Ok, the very bare bones of it is that the school decided to add about 50 part time slots and 20 more full time slots (we were told our class would be 80 ppl, ended up with ~150) The part time people are taking only patho and pharm. Which would make them your classmates full time in the spring. I do not know if they are going to do part time again...it hasn't seemed very successful so far. (ok, maybe it's not a long story, but it's still complicated :) )

I got admitted to TWU spring 2010 but I am also in the same boat as a lot of you guys...not knowing what to do with the whole UT situation....if ya'll had the option to choose between TWU and UT...where would ya'll go and why? I just wanted to know the difference between the two schools? which one is harder, etc??

TWU has the highest NCLEX pass rates last time I checked. The only reason i didnt apply to TWU is because they had some weird requirements as far as pre-reqs that UT and UTMB didnt want so rather than going to school for a whole semester to satisfy TWU I decided not to apply. It is actually considered the top Nursing school in the med center to my knowledge...I heard it cheaper than UT. If the requirements for TWU and UT were the same I wouldve been completely happy if I got into either....it wouldve been 50/50 for me. Thats a tough call maybe right out a pros and cons and go from there...do some research on the net as far as ranking goes? I think both programs will kick your behind so I dont think there is an "easier" school persay
