  1. I just graduated from UTHouston. Just from talking to other PV students: They unanimously say that they prepare you well but you gotta learn most of it on your own. I hear more negative comments from other PV students than I do from UTH students. Hope that helps..
  2. I'm a student at UT Houston and as far as I know, GPA prior to nursing school is disregarded. The GPA we can access online is only the classes you take during nursing school.
  3. thanks!! i think i'm going to go pick my mail up tomorrow, i can't wait until next week! i don't know why i still check this thread, everyone has moved on to facebook.. lol
  4. Ooo exciting, i won't be able to pick up my mail from my permanent addy until next week though.. boo. there aren't any deadlines in there that's coming up are there?
  5. was there anything we needed to sign stating we would accept their acceptance? like how TWU required us to fill out a sheet by a deadline checking accept or decline. I just wanted to make sure i didn't miss out on anything. i haven't received the packet yet either like everyone else.
  6. I concur with Rosebud. I had emailed Ms. Philips about the info session tomorrow and she responded back that it was for prospective students only. We will need to attend the orientation if you've already been accepted. You can definitely bring anyone you want though. It is very informal and she just gives out pre-req sheets, etc. I'm sure if you really want to talk to someone, you can go and ask her anything you want after the informal presentation.
  7. does anyone know how many people they are admitting for the Spring 2010 class?
  8. Yeah, no matter how much i look stuff up, it doesn't help! I wish i knew more UTHSC nursing students/graduates. Everyone i know goes/went to TWU and they love/d it, of course. There is around two weeks before and after summer semester so that's *somewhat* of a break.. and a whole month between fall and spring. http://son.uth.tmc.edu/prospstudent/applresources/documents/semester-calendar.pdf I think I am leaning towards UT still bc of the 4 consecutive semesters. It's going to be INTENSE, but I rather finish sooner to move on with my career. I'm older now and more determine than ever! Does anyone know if both schools allow you to experience a wide range of departments?
  9. LOL! that's what I really liked about the UT building too. haha.. I haven't really seen TWU's facility other than going up to a room for the info session. Do you guys know if that building is only for CON? UT's campus includes all the other schools too, right?
  10. OH MAN, seriously, my thoughts too! acccck!
  11. congratulations to everyone who has gotten in!! i just found out i got in too!! however, my utlink did not update yet. it still says, "pending status will be updated upon admissions committee decision." so i was bummed after seeing my status was not updated and that i still had to wait to find out.. while surfing the net, my gmail notifier popped up with new mail that had a subject line of "acceptance to the university of texas....." my heart stopped and i opened my gmail to actually see if it was real and it was!! i'm not sure how legitimate this email is, but it is from one of the admissions woman that conducted the interviews, so i hope it's real! here's the email i received: congratulations! we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted for admission to the university of texas health science center at houston school of nursing bachelor of science in nursing program for the 2010 spring semester. you will receive your official acceptance letter along with the registration information by november 15th. please note: all prerequisite courses must be complete to start the program. important dates to remember: orientation - december 10, 2009 first day of class -january 11, 2010 feel free to contact me at t**y***@uth.tmc.edu or email [email protected] with any questions. welcome to the ut houston school of nursing! - hide quoted text - tarsha ***** so don't forget to check your email! i really hope this email is legit because that would be a cruel cruel joke!
  12. thanks for the awesome info, strosgirl! i am in the same boat as ali, i hope UT informs us soon.
  13. I haven't faxed it yet but I would scan and email it. If you have a scanner or can take a digital picture of your letter then I would just email it so to not have to find a fax machine and to call long distance...
  14. Awesome list you came up with! Thanks! I am also going to add what kind of graduate programs each school has. If anyone is considering furthering their education after a BSN, it may be beneficial to attend undergrad at the school you will eventually return to for graduate studies. I haven't looked to see what each school offers, if they are different or the same yet. When I do, i'll post the info I found!
  15. I also got accepted to the houston campus. 1st degree from UT-Austin, 3.76 GPA (can i bump it to a 3.8? =P), 90 composite HESI, and a 820 critical thinking score.
