Hi. I am looking into applying for these schools in Houston. I just wanted to know how rigorous the courses are before I apply. For example, (if your in one of the schools, 1st say which school) does the curriculum require massive amounts of studying and reading books? Are most of the fellow students doing well in the classes without devoting massive time to studying? Basically, I want to know how difficult it is to actually make A's for the classes. I am currently taking my 1st semester of nursing school at UT Houston, and am not doing as well as I hoped (I can probably pass with B's and C's) but I don't think I have a chance at making much A's. I really wanted to go onto graduate school after my BSN, but I wouldn't have a chance if I get all B's for the whole curriculum...... I used to get all A's minimal study time at UH and HCC. Now I study a lot more than I used to and I still come out with mediocre grades... This is why I'm wondering. I don't wanna be stuck with just an undergraduate degree.. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

if we havent registered yet, will we still be able to attend class and not be kicked out?

yeah, i think i heard that financial aid gets applied directly when you get your bill on utlink, after you register for classes...

does that mean that the grants will not count towards tuition cost til after the deadline? i would think that the loans would be applied towards tuition if the grants are so we wont have to pay out of pocket...?

i just completed my master promissory note and counseling today. an autoresponse email from them said that it would send within the next 24 hours.. so i wouldnt think there would be a delay on the loans... ?

i didnt know that we needed "entrance counseling"... is this mandatory? also, i think the last day is friday the 7th... dont take my word on it though.. im basing off of what i remember from orientation...

do we really get "assigned" lab times, or is it 1st come, first chooses?

well it just came with my acceptance packet. i think it said i got it based my previous grades? its basically only $1000 for the 1st 2 semesters.

yes, i got the package deal for 156 as well with my application. so, no one got a scholarship offer in their acceptance packet?

i received my acceptance letter in the mail today as well! did anyone received a Vivian scholarship offer or any other scholarship offer with their acceptance packet? also, I turned in my scholarship application before i got my acceptance packet... but then i looked at the instructions for the statement, and it says that we should list our nursing aspirations.. but the application online did not say that... i hope it doesnt affect me, but ill probably call them on monday just to make sure...

my drug screen request didnt give a date. it just said, "You need to arrive at the testing site - between 8 am – 5:00pm. Please go in for testing AS SOON AS YOU CAN." and the email came less than a day later for me.

has anyone taken the background check yet? i went to the gulfcoast website, and it basically told me to go to the precheck site. I just thought that was weird that they listed the gulfcoast website for the undergraduates when it actually directs you to the precheck website....
