hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.
Can't wait to hear from others.
where did you check the NCLEX pass rates by school?
this is the link for 2008. adn programs are listed first, bsn programs are listed after that:

TWU is actually higher by quite a bit...like 4%....I think UT just sounds better on paper but statistically its more expensive and has a lowers pass rate. Its really though for you guys that have to pick between the 2 because i would have a hard time...like I said had I applied and was in yor boat I would flip a coin. Theyre both awesome but TWU has a little advantage due to tuition and NCLEX....oh and I lied HBU has the highest....100%....wowzers
quick question...i didn't realized this until the TWU Houston open house, but the degree from UTHSC is a BSN, and the degree from TWU is a BS with a major in nursing. my understanding is it doesn't matter which one you receive, it won't make a difference in regards to job offers or grad school. does anybody know any reason why one or the other could possibly pose any kind of problem?
Probably just wording....I sold some furniture to a lady on craigslist the other day and I noticed she had a RN necklace so I tol.d her I was applying. She applied to TWU,UT,UTMB and got into all 3. She chose TWU because she said it was "the best" out of the 3. She said they have all these high-tech simulators and stuff. I wish I was done with my pre-reqs by TWU's deadline because like I said I would happy and jumping up and down if they wanted me...i just wasnt able to apply....pray on it
You should look at the number of people taking the NCLEX from PVANM and HBU...they only have a few people taking the NCLEX from those schools, so I don't know if that means that fewer people complete those programs or fewer graduate at a time...but I still think that UTHSH and TWU are better programs.

LOL.....no doubt....I saw that number and thought the same thing. Good luck with your decisions...whatever you chose to do will be a great path...kuddos to you for being accepted to TWU...thats something to be proud of

I think they're exactly the same thing. The diploma will read Bachelor of Science in Nursing for both TWU and UTH.
