Please stop bringing in leftover candy and baked goods and leaving them where I can see them. It's far too tempting.
I call BS on this metabolism thing. Should be directly related to effort. ie: everytime I see a brownie and do not eat it, I should lose 5lbs due to the amount of restraint I need to exert.

Agreed! Especially on the losing 5lbs just for exercising small moments of self restraint.

YEP! I make my husband bring leftover Halloween candy to his work...a bunch of skinny tech guys...they can handle it more than me.

Last year I decided that homemade goodies were all good for me to eat and store bought stuff was worthy of passing. This way I get some yummy treats and don't feel bad about missing out, and pass up the stuff that I'm not the biggest fan of anyway.
Still can't come up with a rule for salty snacks, though. Give me all the chips.

I have to have some chips and salty stuff too. So...when I'm at home I put a small amount in a cup or small bowl and that's all I take at a given time. Same thing with being at work and having salty snacks - I put a small amount in a cup, munch on that. Either way, I get some, I enjoy it, and even if I'm mindlessly eating the salty stuff - my supply is small as opposed to mindlessly eating a much larger portion. If I am still hungry (not bored, not anything else), I will allow myself to get some more food - after drinking more water.
I was a big soda drinker for a long time. I used to keep it in my house religiously. I stopped - it is now a treat, something I get if I go out to dinner, etc. At home I have water, tea, and coffee. Even with that, only having soda if out to dinner or as a lunch treat, everyone looks at me funny. When I choose to get a soda, I ask for a glass of water too. I will let the waiter refill the water but not the soda. If I get soda at work, I drink what I want WITH lunch, and throw the rest away. My disclaimer is, on the other hand, if I have a bad headache that is more migraine than anything else, I have to have caffeine, and the easiest way IS to buy and drink a can of soda at work.

I think my kids here like me chubby, because they bring me their candy and I eat it. #NoRegrets

Guilty. Because I can't keep that stuff at home because nobody in my sedentary household needs it. Sorry.
