REMINDER!!! The deadline to submit your Fall application is nearing. As of now, the deadline has not changed from February 2 (short of 4 weeks away).
This is my second time applying--I was wait listed for the Spring term. Currently, I am studying to take my TEAS exam again on January 27th. This exam was the only portion of my application I was not confident in. I scored a 70% without refreshing my memory on key concepts by studying before hand. I did find the test to be a "you either no it or you don't" kind of thing so from personal experience--STUDY!
I have no outstanding prerequisites and my sciences are as follows:
AP1. -- B
AP2. -- A
CHEM -- B
MICRO -- A
I had the privilege of chatting with the last group of students and found this forum to be quite helpful! Please use this post as a way of communicating, sharing experiences, and giving advice. Hopefully, we will be classmates in the Fall!:)
So I called about the TEAS and they did get it, but haven't had the chance to update SURFS. They're still looking for 2 of my recommendation letters though...they were sent earlier than I sent my application so that posed an issue. She wasn't able to tell me if there was a day by when they should have found them cuz there's thousands of papers for hundreds of applicants. If it's not found within a week or so, I'll probably call back then.

I'm sure they'll find it! and even if they don't, they'll ask you to resend it to make your application complete!
@aspiringnursedd yeah i'm in the same boat as you. everything's complete on my app but one reference. they found one of my references so far, but i'm worried about the other since i got no confirmation from the professor if he sent it or not. since i gave it to him back in december, i'm hoping he got it in...
Oh ok thanks for for the input...I won't be surprised if I have to have the professor resend it in.
My only concern is that they won't get tos tart reading my app till late cuz of this...I have to submit a deposit for another school I was admitted to by May 1 :/ So prayerfully UMSON gives decisions before then!
@jinra let us know if you have to have anything resent. I'll call friday if they haven't found it by then.
Hi Everyone!
I recently joined this site and have the same concerns as some other people. I took my TEAS exam and wasn't able to dedicate as much time as I wanted to studying and know it could have been better. I am hoping that my GPA, essay, and medical experience will help me get through. I wish everyone the best of luck. Now the waiting begins. (Thanks for making this thread its been informative!)
I've been reading these threads since the fall so I thought I would finally jump in! My application for UMD, Towson, and George Washington have all been sent in and confirmed. My Maryland application is "Complete and Ready for Review" so it's out of my hands now! Good luck to all you guys, and good luck to us trying to be patient!!
Hey Midgeeileen!
I applied to Towson too and I went to GW for undergrad! I applied to Georgetown instead of GW though. Plus GW's nursing school is all the way out in the boonies instead of downtown, which sucks!
Oh nice PinkEagle, I still technically have my application in at Georgetown, but haven't completed the LikeLive Interview yet. My problem is they switched from an ABSN to the MS Entry, which isn't the program I want just yet. Personally I want to have my BSN before I go back and get a more specialized Masters. But, since they did extend the deadline, I might still apply just in case! I already have my BSN in Human Biology, but most nurses have told me a BSN is key for jobs right now, but Masters might be the next big thing.
In-state tuition is also a huge factor, and at GW, I applied for the Washington Squared Program. I think in order my choices right now would be UMD, Towson, GW, Georgetown.

Yeah seriously this quote made my day!
I found out one of my former A&P classmates was applying to the CNL program and its the only nursing programs he's applying to. But he already has 2 masters degrees and got As in all his nursing pre-reqs, so I was starting to feel anxious. But he's in it for the money, unlike me and knowing that people have gotten in with less than stellar GPAs is comforting!
