REMINDER!!! The deadline to submit your Fall application is nearing. As of now, the deadline has not changed from February 2 (short of 4 weeks away).
This is my second time applying--I was wait listed for the Spring term. Currently, I am studying to take my TEAS exam again on January 27th. This exam was the only portion of my application I was not confident in. I scored a 70% without refreshing my memory on key concepts by studying before hand. I did find the test to be a "you either no it or you don't" kind of thing so from personal experience--STUDY!
I have no outstanding prerequisites and my sciences are as follows:
AP1. -- B
AP2. -- A
CHEM -- B
MICRO -- A
I had the privilege of chatting with the last group of students and found this forum to be quite helpful! Please use this post as a way of communicating, sharing experiences, and giving advice. Hopefully, we will be classmates in the Fall!:)
3.7 GPA, not no competitive TEAS either. i'm biting my nails, hoping that something else in my application will tip the scale or be the-lucky-one to slip in as an exception to the rule.
We're on the same boat. I feel the same way, hope something else in the application helps. How did you do on the TEAS? I had an overall score of 80. My English usage section was hard. -_-
I have a decent GPA, 3.3, hopefully this semester's classes will boost it! And an average TEAS score. This is my third time applying and I am now voluntering at a hospital, so I am hoping that will help. I am biting my nails on this but I don't feel very hopeful, for some reason, since this is my third time. I am hoping to get wait-listed at least so I have a chance!

Awee don't feel that way. I'm sure everything will workout for you. The volunteering probably will help. This is my first time applying and I am a nervous wreck. I probably should have studied. I thought I could do well without studying. And I also waited forever to take the test because I was so focused on other parts of the application. Did you try re-taking the TEAS for a higher score?

When I applied last year for the BSN program, I had a 3.3 GPA overall from 5 different schools and a 3.85 in my pre-reqs and an 80 on the TEAS and I was waitlisted! At least you are actively volunteering, which is something I haven't done for a few years! I will say that unfortunately UMSON won't save your info, or remember the number of times you apply unlike other schools but I still think you have a good chance!!
This is embarrassing but I don't know what my exact overall and pre req GPAs are I know what my GPA from undergrad overall was (3.43, thanks orgo and physics lol ) but I dunno what it is now that I have taken 4 more classes (the A&Ps, nutrition and dev. psych). But I got As in those and a B in chem, and A- in chem lab. So yea I don't know how to calculate it but I'm not too worried about it. Taking micro now.
I got a 92.7 on TEAS.
Good thing is that UMSON takes everything into account; Towson is based on TEAS and transcript. NO rec letters, essay or resume. I'm definitely freaked out about Towson but UMSON really seems to want to know the applicants.
AGHHH!! You all have great GPA's and Teas scores. PinkEagle your stats are scaring the crap out of me. I pretty much have the same as yours. Good luck everyone. I sincerely hope we all get in. You have great stats aspiringnursedd. Good job. I wish I had studied for the TEAS before taking it.
Try not to compare stats too much. GPA, TEAS, etc. are all only part of the application. People get in with all sorts of scores. UMSON really does look at the whole package. I know CNL's who got in with less than a 3.0 GPA and others who struggled in the program even though they came in with 4.0's. Reference letters, your essay, etc. ALL matter just as much, if not more, than your grades.

Hey guys, if you don't mind me asking how do your stats look (GPA, TEAS) for the BSN program? I have a 4.0 overall GPA but not so competitive TEAS score. I am super nervous -_-.
