UMSON Fall 2015

Published

REMINDER!!! The deadline to submit your Fall application is nearing. As of now, the deadline has not changed from February 2 (short of 4 weeks away).

This is my second time applying--I was wait listed for the Spring term. Currently, I am studying to take my TEAS exam again on January 27th. This exam was the only portion of my application I was not confident in. I scored a 70% without refreshing my memory on key concepts by studying before hand. I did find the test to be a "you either no it or you don't" kind of thing so from personal experience--STUDY!

I have no outstanding prerequisites and my sciences are as follows:

AP1. -- B

AP2. -- A

CHEM -- B

MICRO -- A

I had the privilege of chatting with the last group of students and found this forum to be quite helpful! Please use this post as a way of communicating, sharing experiences, and giving advice. Hopefully, we will be classmates in the Fall!:)

Did you ever figure out the clinical registration? i just seen an email sent out from UMSON stating clinical registration was last week??

@Tazolover It is disappointing. Since we were waitlisted and our documents rolled over from the last time, we will have to resubmit everyting again and pay the fee etc. like the very first application. This was my third time applying and I was very close to the guarenteed admission at UMD college park. So, I decided to finish my bachelors at Maryland and then apply either to an acclerated BSN program or masters/CNL program...not exactly sure which route. Were you thinking of applying again?

Regarding the textbooks needed for this semester, does anyone know if you buy the textbooks that require you to have access, used, if the access will still come with it? Or if you have to buy them new for the access?

Clinical Registration last week was only for second, third and fourth semester students. First semester students do not register for clinicals until after school starts. An email went to first semester students which was in error.

Didn't use access codes at all and I did fine.

If you buy used it likely won't come with the codes.

You just really need docucare...can't pass without it. Everything else I didn't use.

I also only used Jarvis textbooks, and the fundies book. Rest were a waste of money and are on file in the library to reference if needed.

Can any current students give some insight about the Kaplan standardized testing?

Are we supposed to be buying our scrubs off of the schools website? If so how many sets, etc.

I am waiting to find out at orientation---maybe we will have some time to go to the store. I did special order a pair of scrub pants from ScrubPros because I wasn't sure if the school would have tall sizes. I think you can buy your scrubs anywhere as long as they meet the guidelines in the student handbook. For tops, I think you can buy the patch at the store if you buy them from somewhere else.

Hello Smoup,

I have tons of questions for you about the CNL program. Please, would you give me an email adress?? I cannot PM here because I am quite new on the website. Thanks in advance.
