REMINDER!!! The deadline to submit your Fall application is nearing. As of now, the deadline has not changed from February 2 (short of 4 weeks away).
This is my second time applying--I was wait listed for the Spring term. Currently, I am studying to take my TEAS exam again on January 27th. This exam was the only portion of my application I was not confident in. I scored a 70% without refreshing my memory on key concepts by studying before hand. I did find the test to be a "you either no it or you don't" kind of thing so from personal experience--STUDY!
I have no outstanding prerequisites and my sciences are as follows:
AP1. -- B
AP2. -- A
CHEM -- B
MICRO -- A
I had the privilege of chatting with the last group of students and found this forum to be quite helpful! Please use this post as a way of communicating, sharing experiences, and giving advice. Hopefully, we will be classmates in the Fall!:)
Can anyone answer this question, I am completely confused with clinical registration. I know we registered for classes at orientation, and they never mentioned registering for clinicals, and I went on my SURFS account as well as looked at our checklist and didn't see it there either. Could someone explain?
As a first semester student I believe when you register for your classes at SSIP you registered for your lab and clinicals. From what I understand clinicals are not off site first semester, therefore you don't have to do any extra signing up. I'm a CNL, so I am not positive how it is for BSNers.
You will have clincals off site 1st semester at a LTC facility. Only like 3 days though. You will register through blackboard later on in the semester. You don't need to worry about registering for anything right now apart from the classes .
Hey all! I'm very confused as to where to access the list of books needed for my classes in the fall. I read the welcome letter and see that the books are listed for 3 of my 5 classes (319, 317, 314) but nothing listed for my other two (310 and 316). Does anybody else know where a list is provided? Also, I'm confused about uniforms. I know we need to wear a white scrub top with khaki scrub pants, but where are we supposed to get those? Do we order them? And do we need to be wearing them for our orientation on Sept. 2nd? I can't seem to get any answers
Here is the link to UMSON's bookstore! Once you type in your courses for the semester, it will automatically show you the books that are required for your courses in the fall! I'm a first year student as well and was able to find my textbooks this way. Hope this helps!
Hey everyone! just got the call today that i was accepted!!! what do i do now? any suggestions on housing? who can i contact or are their any groups i can join to find roommates (baltimore campus)
you can order uniforms through the bookstore or you can shop anywhere.
as far as the textbooks, I know the only ones you will need for the first day of school are the ones listed on your welcome letter.
you can check with the bookstore online to see if your other classes have any books listed.
no, I don't believe you have to wear your scrubs on orientation. they will be telling us all of our requirements that day. i'm sure that day will clear up a lot for you.
Ok so I'm having trouble getting my immunizations. I don't have health care n cvs n Walgreens say I need a prescription for those immunizations?? Does anyone else have this problem? Or know how I can get around this?
What vaccines do you need? CVS minute clinic is where you need to go. You cannot just go to ANY CVS. They must have a minute clinic with a NP on staff.

@betibee3: i just received an email stating that there were no spaces left, and i was wait listed twice as well, are you gonna reapply again? if so, do you have to submit a new application? or will you contact them to ask them to roll over your application?
I am wondering about clinical registration as well because i just saw an email sent out from UMSON stating clinical registration was last week? i was told at promise orientation that clinical sites fill fast and im scared i may have missed out??
