Trump’s assault on Postal Service and voting is a plot against American democracy | Editorial
QuoteOn Thursday morning, after months of attacks on the United States Postal Service and vote-by-mail, President Donald Trump admitted that the two efforts are connected as a part of one voter disenfranchisement effort. In a Fox Business Network interview, Trump said that the sticking point for him in the negotiations over a new coronavirus economic relief package is Post Office funding: “If we don’t make a deal, that means they don’t get the money. That means they can’t have universal mail-in voting. They just can’t have it.”

As I said Trump is not my all time favorite while at the same time he is not the evil villain some make him out to be. Biden also has serious issues beyond the decreased cognitive abilities (hx of corruption, plagiarism which got him disqualified last time or was it the time before, nepotism re: his son Hunter, racism etc). Its a toss up so I will vote for who I think is better for the country (ie policies etc). The far left agenda IMO is not gonna help/not good for the country.
Not sure what to think about this post office situation but either way Trump is not against absentee voting, anyone can still request to vote by mail and get a mail in ballot, he (and others) are against across the board voting by mail where the ballots are just sent out to anyone and everyone.
If you think Trump is not evil, what else do you think he is? I grew up for 52 years one county away from this guy and I know who he is. How can someone who brags about grabbing teenage girls by the crotch not be evil? Okay, his defenders say that was only locker room talk. WHO talks like that to improve his image with his buddies? Why are we having more Covid cases per capita than almost anyone else in the world? Because he has abandoned the citizens in pursuit of winning the next election. He has no regard, respect or decency towards the citizenry. He appoints defective people with no experience in government to cabinet level positions. Ben Carson in HUD? Alex Azar was a pharmaceutical lobbyist . Sonny Perdue runs a department who hired 22 Trump financial donors with no agricultural experience to determine policy. The list goes on and on of his big donors getting big jobs with no experience - like Louis De Joy is making changes in the USPS and his only qualification is that he is a big donor. Just name ONE thing Trump has done to demonstrate his decency as a human. Father Fred trained him to be a street brawler so he could make contracts with the Mafia for the concrete for his buildings. He's a common thug. If fact, "common" is the best description of him. I look forward to the day when he leaves the WH and we can go about living our lives without having to be assaulted every day by the news. Just want the government to go back to quietly administering the big machine justly and efficiently and get out of my life.

Murphy says N.J. to have mostly mail-in voting in November election because of COVID-19.
https://www.state.nj.us/state/elections/vote-by-mail.shtml
Actually, states do NOT mail the actual ballot to all registered voters; they mail the applications for the ballots. The applications must be mailed back with the person's signature. This signature is matched with the signature on the actual ballot. Ballots are handled as chain of custody items. Also, people do not actually have to mail in the ballot. A town's government center building will have a red "mail"box to collect ballots. When you use these, you can bypass the USPS and give those guys a break") Trump can try but we must Persist.

The post office wants 25 billion dollars, does anyone really think that is all bc of covid. We all know that Russia and other countries are trying to influence the election, plus there have already been instances of voter fraud via mail. Anyone who requests a mail in ballot can get one. The post office needs to fix its own mess, not taxpayers, IMO. That is not unamerican!
Only registered voters can apply for a ballot. Please give us a source for your allegation of voter fraud. The only way I can think of is that someone receives an application for someone who has died and this family member fills in the application for the dead person. However, they also have to forge the person's signature...twice. And it would be easy enough to go through checking the dead person's real signature if this ever came up. If the ballot and application signatures don't match, the ballot is called "spoiled" and separated from the rest of the ballots. Also the Post Office is not a business...it is a service that the government is obligated to provide. For those of us who live in towns, it's hard to appreciate how much people in rural areas depend on the mail for something we can run to the drugstore for.
Let's be honest, this is all about the USPS needing a bailout. They have requested one since last year. Get help for the TDS.

I don't think he is evil any more than the many politicians who I don't necessarily agree with before him. Everything you say about Trump you can say about Biden. I don't like some of the things Obama/Biden admin did (for instance the creepy kissing everyone that Biden does, and the fact the Obama/Biden lied to we the people about the ACA, the racist policies of Biden past) but I would never call them evil, Hitler etc, to me that is just crossing the line. Agree to disagree and move on. I don't think we have ever, as a country, had this much incivility re: politics by some politicians, the news media and others, it is just sad and pathetic, IMO.
This is a good read re: voter fraud.
If we cant even have civil conversations with each other we are not moving forward as a people or country.
I have never liked 100% of any politicians/policies even those I have voted for. I have voted Dem, Rep, and Independent. I vote for who I feel (ie their policies) will do the best job for the country regardless of how I feel about their personality.
I think, as the election gets closer, we will have more TS (Trump Supporters) doing more TS (Topic Starters) TS (To Support) the TS (Toxic Substance) we currently have as President, providing TS (Terminal Support) for someone we plan on having TS (Time Stamped) out of the White House. But one thing I am sure of is that the myth "Anyone can grow up to be President" is not a myth as of 2016.
Which one is TDS? One thing I can tell you Iluvboba is that in health care you had better be sure of the actual meaning of an abbreviation before you use it.
QuoteTrump Derangement Syndrome or Trump Delusion Syndrome. The inability to find fault with Trump due to the fact that you voted for him in 2016. (Urban Dictionary)
QuoteTDS is an acronym for Trump Derangement Syndrome, a term applied to people who express deep loathing and fear of President Donald Trump. (Dictionary.com)

That's propaganda and nonsense. We can tell by your use of the propaganda term, TDS. Get back to us when you want to deal in reality, where health professionals should have discussions.
Another good read Re: voter fraud

Sure, you could say that Biden is a well known and pathological liar who was unfaithful to each of his 3 wives, but it wouldn't be true. You can suggest that Obama or Biden lie or have lied as much or with the intent of Trump, but the public evidence doesn't support that belief.
What we know is that authoritarians are evil and they will ultimately commit evil crimes if unchecked. We know that Hitler was such a man. We know that some Germans of the time could not discern that Hitler was an authoritarian and was engaged in evil endeavors. It is pathetic that history must, seemingly, be repeated because of propaganda and partisan thinking.
Having a civil discussion does not require that we avoid speaking truth or incorrectly assert that two things are the same when they are not. Trump is unlike any president of your or my lifetime, full stop. Personality and character matter. There are lots of competent politicians and public servants, we don't need to settle for a lying, corrupt, self serving conman. We need a president with compassion and empathy. Absence of those character traits can lead to evil ...
The GOP used to know and do better than that.

That story was from 2017 about an incident in 2016. And did you see this part of the article?
”But investigators found that managers did not collude with the union to choose candidates it should support, or ask the union to advocate for Clinton or any other Democrats whose policies would benefit the Postal Service.”
So what’s your point?
