To Do: Over Summer Vacation

Published

What do yall have to do over summer vacation? Mine is only a week, so my list is short (sort of).

  • Deep clean everything. (Vacuming, dusting, all that stuff that never gets done).
  • Keep up excercise program (getting harder as the weeks progress).
  • Sign up for scholarship test.
  • Make a nursing school binder (I'm a pre-nursing student working of my pre-reqs).
  • Figure out if I want to sign up for the CNA course, and when. (how?)
  • Email leader of Christian Student Fellowship. This is a letter of my testimony as a leader and it is sent to sponcers (etc).
  • Scholarship binder (dates, things, etc).
  • Read some books for fun! :)

Whats your plan??

I heard (haha saw) a couple of you mention a test success book...what is that? Is it just a NCLEX exam prep or more of a testing skill book? I just got my acceptance letter into the nursing program:yeah:and I am wanting to put this summer to good use. Thanks!

My new book just came today, Perfect timing, it was just released this week. Has not a thing to do with nursing LOL

Well, my summer should be pretty chill, but it'll be good. My plans:

  • Find a job and hopefully work about 24 hours a week
  • Spend 6 weeks of my life devoted to A&P II which I am taking online July 6-August 12
  • Hang out with friends
  • Go to the drive in movies and see Despicable Me with my Faith Sharing group
  • Go on an end of summer camping trip with my friends
  • Prepare for my first semester of NS
  • Buy new clothes (I need nicer clothes that I can wear on Mondays when I go in to get my patient info for my Tuesday clinicals since I pretty much only own jeans and sweat/yoga pants and t-shirts and hoodies -- that's what you get when you're 19 and live in college dorms)

This one was 350 pages :| I read the Twilight Series in 4 days and that was well over 2000 pages total. When I get into a good book I become an addict. Maybe I should find a video game to play, I got Super mario Bros for the Wii (super mario bros were my FAVORITE as a kid on nintendo) but I had that beat in a few days. LOL My sons are addicted to call of duty right now on the PS3

Might as well be called Crack of Duty. I had to give my copy to someone else to prevent me from playing it. I just cant believe you have read that much that fast. Read Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings? I dont know what you like but the Bourne books are all very good as well. I love reading and wish I had more time to do so. Even pull up the best books list and see what you can find there and read the classics.

No Harry potter books or LOTR, not really into Sci Fi books, or romance books which is why I was shocked I even got into the twilight books (I fought it for a long time). My favorite books are true crime, drama, suspense, mystery, horror. Stuff like that. My friend just suggested a series to me, she is going to send them to me to borrow so I guess I will give those a shot. I have heard a lot of good things about them.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to read. I used to be such a book nerd when I was in Elementary and JHS. I fell out of it and hadn't read again (for pleasure) until last summer and now I am hooked again. It seems my daughter is following in my footsteps which is great, she will follow me with her stack of books and sit next to me and read :D My boys, not so much.

Same here! I never thought I would get into the Twilight series and I did. I'm more of a historical romance reader though. But I'm such a nerd ;)

Hopefully I will be taking the NCLEX and finding a job!!!!!!

We moved to CO from WA and I love a lot here but I miss "home".

I moved to CO from CA in 2003 but returned in 2007. I really liked it there. What school do you go to? I did my prereqs at Arapahoe Community College and would probably still be waiting to get in if I hadn't moved back!
