To Do List.: Before Fall Semester

Published

So what does everyone need/want to accomplish before fall semester starts?

Mine:

  • Finish deep cleaning the house (I might not have much time when school starts.. so I do spring cleaning at the end of the summer).
  • Read my graphing calculator for dummies book (once the calculator comes in the mail! )
  • get my books on the 15th.
  • read a little in every book. (I only have a week between when first classes start and the 15th but I am going to try to read the first chapter in every book)
  • sharpen all my pencils :D
  • and if I have enough money.. go buy some new clothes.

  • Finish the assignments they gave us at orientation in May - I still have 5+ chapters in the Pharmacology book, 2 in the skills book, need to brush up on my med math and terminology (I already read like 14 chapters in the Fundamentals book).
  • Commandeer the tall, skinny bookshelf from my son's room for my books and school supplies. He told me I could have it if I paid him $2 a week for his allowance instead of $5. (yes, you read that right. He's almost 6, for what it's worth.)
  • I should probably organize my closet.
  • Rest. Because this might be the last of that for a while.
  • Bleed the brakes on the 69 Malibu because that might be my ride to school this semester since my Beetle Turbo S has a rack-and-pinion steering problem that will cost 1000 to fix (and I don't have that, cause I shot every extra bit of money I had this summer on supplies and books and everything else I needed for school).

There's probably more, but these are what I need to get done ASAP.

ditto to cleaning,

get re acquainted with my crock pot,

check ups for my sons at dr's and dentist to get that out of the way for a while,

a hair app for me ;-)

a night out alone with hubby,

pick up uniform order and stethoscope, (should be in this week)

sew school patch on scrubs and lab coat,

clean out corner of my room for my study station,

ok and some pre-reading for school.

that will get me started. ;-) Also keeping an eye on other things coming up to get them scheduled the first 8 weeks of school. The first 8 weeks are skills lab and theory classes before any clinicals start and the only time I will know my schedule so far in advance. ;-)

Good luck getting it all done, my only goal was to study 4 weeks into school so I was always ahead-and when idid it ifound I had time to continue my life as normal.

Nepenthe - I can't get my iTouch until my financial aid check gets here. It stinks! Luckily I can use my financial aid account to purchase my books/school supplies, but if it can't be found at the school bookstore I have to pay out of pocket or wait till FA refunds are sent out. Mine takes 5 weeks!

Five weeks??? Uugh. Last year I got a Palm TX and some Skyscape software for it. Since I had to wait for my FA to get it, by the time I did I didn't have time to figure it out until the end of the semester!

I just remembered - I'll be able to use my tuition reimbursement payment from work to buy it. In theory, I should be getting that in the next week or so. Yay! I want enough time before class starts to play with it so I'll know how to use it :)

My planner right now looks unreal. I got the call that I moved off of the waiting list just three weeks before classes start so I have a lot to get done in three weeks!

- straighten out financial aid between old school and new nursing school

- order uniforms

- attend school orientation and nursing orientation

- get books

- get all shots & titers

- physical

- TEAS test

- reschedule tubal ligation for during break

- get school clothes for son

- get dh's stuff around for his school

- clean the house w/i an inch of it's life

- finish entire book series i'm currently reading before textbooks take over my life

- figure out child care

- get my hair cut

- SLEEP! I love my naps on the weekends and know that they're going to be a thing of the past once I start school!

I think those are the most pressing things.

My in-laws had our son for most of the weekend and I had all these plans of getting some things cleaned and sorted and ended up laying around reading most of the weekend and being lazy. I figured it will be awhile before I can do that again.
