So what does everyone need/want to accomplish before fall semester starts?
Mine:
Things I'd like to do prior to moving to Nashville next Monday (17th):
* Finish cleaning the house
* Get a haircut
* Pull together a real wardrobe of clothes for lecture classes
* Have the dogs groomed
* Spend time with friends and family
Things I'm likely to actually get accomplished in that time:
* Spend time with friends and family
At this point, frankly, I'm out of money and time needed to get everything done that I'd like to...but it's all going to be great!
- Finish the assignments they gave us at orientation in May - I still have 5+ chapters in the Pharmacology book, 2 in the skills book, need to brush up on my med math and terminology (I already read like 14 chapters in the Fundamentals book).
- Commandeer the tall, skinny bookshelf from my son's room for my books and school supplies. He told me I could have it if I paid him $2 a week for his allowance instead of $5. (yes, you read that right. He's almost 6, for what it's worth.)
- I should probably organize my closet.
- Rest. Because this might be the last of that for a while.
- Bleed the brakes on the 69 Malibu because that might be my ride to school this semester since my Beetle Turbo S has a rack-and-pinion steering problem that will cost 1000 to fix (and I don't have that, cause I shot every extra bit of money I had this summer on supplies and books and everything else I needed for school).
There's probably more, but these are what I need to get done ASAP.
LMAO....your son and mine would get along great!!
Clean my room & organize my desk
Get an oil change for my car
Clear out my brain from all that stuff i did in summer school
Go grocery shopping for healthy snacks i can eat in between classes
Brush up on my simple arithmetic and fractions for pharmacology
Find $2,000.00 to cover book expenses for this semester
Get a massage
REST & spend time with my baby sister before she goes off to college!!!
- clean my room...again.
- get my hair cut!
- buy my nursing shoes.
- get the brakes on my car replaced. And an oil change. And pray it lasts me through the next two years!
- go out for one last crazy night with my friends, none of whom are in nursing school and don't yet get that I won't be able to do this every weekend anymore.
- go to the beach one last time.
- buy the rest of my textbooks.
- pick up extra shifts at work. Need to save up a bit for when I cut back my hours in the fall!
- thoroughly enjoy the few precious weeks of summer I have left!
-Pray to God my book I bought off of Ebay get here before Aug. 24
-Attempt to read 1st chapter of each book present or atleast look through each chapter.
-Get School supplies (I feel If I have atleast a couple of notebooks I can get the rest on sale after schools in session.)
-Talk to Advisor to verify my schedule
-Kiss summer goodbye and have fall-winter clothes on standby (Bye, bye summer 2009, I'll miss you!!!!)
-Get car checked
-Go to Orientation and see what new changes have come about in the department this semester.
-Get health records updated for clinicals.
AND FINALLY.....
Get some decent sleep!!!!
I can mark the caving trip off my to-do list! Did that after work today with the husband and kids.
Word of advice--if you ever decide to go caving, don't take small children into a big mud pit of a cave, LOL. I figured the little ones (4.5 & 2.5) would be fine with it because we've taken them in other caves and they loved it. Apparently they're not into the mud.
-Have one last irresponsible night out with friends.
-Buy school supplies.
-Sleep....and more sleep.
-Buy new inserts for my shoes for clinicals.
-Buy a new coffee maker.
-Buy some new school clothes.
-Watch skills disk to brush up on basics (foley insertion, IV etc)
-Mentally prepare myself for 5 wks of mental health clinicals...
Luckily I have a pretty good group this semester,so study groups will be awesome. Also, I got the clinical assignment I wanted, so I'm very happy about that.
I still party during the semester, but I make sure I'm home by 2 or 3 haha. During a good night out with friends I won't get home until the next day, then I have to sleep all day...it's hard to do during school.
But thanks, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who still parties in school.

Mate...you don't use foggers in the house do you?
As for the decluttering (entirely not a word I know), I feel your pain. But, I am having a really great time doing it right now. I am even steam cleaning my carpets. God I feel virtuous.
