QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

This is so dystopian.

I would agree. This is not appropriate for DeSantis to do.
However. Would it be appropriate to allow anti abortion ads?
Free speech says both should be allowed.
I I 100% support that DeSantis shouldn't be suppressing this free speech or any speech.

What are you talking about? There are already lots of anti-abortion ads running. Here in Alaska our local ABC affiliate is running anti-abortion ads that have such graphic and inflammatory imagery in them that ABC warns viewers before they air them so that children can be protected.

I drive by billboards weekly that proclaim that abortion is evil with a picture of a fetus in utero. And I've been seeing an ad on daytime TV that shows pictures of aborted fetuses. So yeah, it's allowed. Did you think it wasn't?

Yeah, that's the same ads I've seen. My hubby watches the View and that's when they come on.

FYI: FCC Election laws permit national presidential candidates to run political ads on all broadcast stations
ABC News election editorial note re Constitution Party Presidential Candidate Randall Terry
QuoteWe want to take a moment to tell you about a graphic political ad you may have seen airing on ABC stations.
The ad is for anti-abortion rights advocate and presidential candidate Randall Terry and features graphic images of aborted fetuses.
By law, our TV stations must air the ad. According to the Federal Communication Commission, broadcast stations are "prohibited from censoring or rejecting political ads that are paid for and sponsored by legally qualified candidates."
Terry will be on the ballot in at least 12 states so he has met criteria to be considered legally qualified nationally.

'The View' abortion ad signals wider effort to use an FCC regulation to spread a message
Quote
An anti-abortion ad that aired during " The View " this past week and criticized the show's personalities was the most visible manifestation of a campaign that is making use of a federal law that forbids broadcasters from turning it down.
In the ad, a narrator says, "I am so sick of stupid celebrities and lying journalists,” while the screen shows pictures of "The View" host Whoopi Goldberg, her colleagues and other celebrities, including Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey, Robert DeNiro, Billie Eilish, Wolf Blitzer, Rachel Maddow and Dana Bash....
Under Federal Communications Commission regulations, broadcast stations "are prohibited from censoring or rejecting political ads that are paid for and sponsored by legally qualified candidates,” a standard that Terry has met...
The FCC rule applies only to candidates, not political organizations, meet its criteria and doesn't apply to cable networks or web-based properties like podcasts. CNN, which is not required to show the ad and said it wouldn't meet its standards anyway, issued a statement calling it "outrageous, antisemitic and dangerous.”...

Conservative politics in the era of Trump is not tethered in any way to ethics, integrity, honor, patriotism or the truth. It's profoundly sad and dangerous.

This guy is really living in lala land if he thinks that judge is going to recuse. Hahaha
Ahhh. But which one is crazier? It's just a matter of degree.
QuoteGermany honored President Joe Biden for his contribution to trans-Atlantic relations on Friday, ahead of his meetings with European allies on Russia's war in Ukraine and the conflict in the Middle East.
I've been thankful for the calm and competent foreign policy of Biden, apparently so has Germany.

I didn't ask if it was "allowed" I asked if free speech would be extended to anti abortion ads ?

Go back and read. I didn't ask if the were anti abortion ads. Only if you your stance on free speech extends to them like it does for pro abortion ads?
GOP candidate for Senate is struggling to keep his story straight.
QuoteSheehy was ticketed and paid a $525 fine for illegally discharging a firearm in Glacier, government records show.
The Republican candidate said in response to the April story that he lied to the park ranger — not about being wounded in Afghanistan.
Sheehy said he fell while hiking at Glacier and injured his arm, then concocted the story about the bullet wound to cover up the fact that the 2012 incident may have been friendly fire. He said he didn't want members of his SEAL unit in Afghanistan to suffer any consequences.
This is on top of him heard disparaging Native Americans,

QuoteBILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Montana Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tim Sheehyacknowledged Monday that derogatory remarks he made last year about Native Americans were "insensitive.” But Sheehy rejected his opponent's call to apologize, during a contentious debate in a race that's emerged as pivotal for control of the Senate.
Three-term incumbent U.S. Sen. Jon Tester had challenged Sheehy over remarks last year in which the Republican told a group of laughing supporters about bonding "with all the Indians ... while they're drunk at 8 a.m.,” while working cattle at a ranch on the Crow Indian Reservation.
It sounds to me like Mr. Sheehy doesn't have much respect for Montanans.
Sen. Tester seems to represent his state well and he is a true advocate for veterans. I love that he still works on his farm.
