QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

QuoteThe editorials editor of the Los Angeles Times has resigned after the newspaper's owner blocked the editorial board's plans to endorse Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris for president, a journalism trade publication reported Wednesday.
Mariel Garza told the Columbia Journalism Review in an interview that she resigned because the Times was remaining silent on the contest in "dangerous times.”
"I am resigning because I want to make it clear that I am not OK with us being silent,” Garza said. "In dangerous times, honest people need to stand up. This is how I'm standing up.”
QuoteSoon-Shiong, who bought the paper in 2018, said the board "chose to remain silent and I accepted their decision.”
Garza told the Columbia Journalism Review that the board had intended to endorse Harris and she had drafted the outline of a proposed editorial.
A LA Times spokesperson did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.
The LA Times Guild Unit Council & Bargaining Committee said it was "deeply concerned about our owner's decision to block a planned endorsement in the presidential race."
Quote"We are even more concerned that he is now unfairly assigning blame to Editorial Board members for his decision not to endorse," the guild said in a statement. "We are still pressing for answers from newsroom management on behalf of our members.”
Is the owner influencing the function of the paper? It appears that he may be.

Sometimes propaganda works when there is omittion. Propaganda suppression. Like Hunter's Lao top.

Congress investigated that laptop in and out to the tune of tens of millions of dollars of tax payer dollars. What did they find that was politically relevant? That's right, they found nothing. We discussed it in these threads over and over. This must be a very uncomfortable time to have the laptop brought out as some kind of political capital rather than something relevant to our political
You keep beating that dead horse like you don't know that it's been dead for some time and isn't going get up and run for you.

The laptop and it's contents have little political value. However someone thought they might hence the FBI incorrectly deeming it "Russian disinformation " and kindly asking social media to remove it from their sites. Then the followed banning accounts that posted about it.
The problem is the coordinated Attempt to hide it, not what was on it. Nice deflection
Uncomfortable time? Another member talked about Trump's Gass passing and suggested republicansvise genitals to manipulate their base. LOL.

He already has an "interest" in election interference. North Korean bots are at work preying on the gullible.

I know. The "bots" have come up every election. It's funny that some believe the Russians are going to the political forum on AN to try and influence election.

That ...no. But I've seen people post stories that are bot material ...bought and paid for by Russia , N. Korea and China. And about half of the country don't have the intellectual curiosity to even check them out before entering forward. Our enemies are burying us , just like Krushev predicted.
