QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

That's awful. Really it would be preferred by us and the polite thing to do to link the article and source of these terror attacks and riots on Saturday because I missed it. Probably left wing fake news media didn't cover it.

Eliminating DEI from the government and appointing judges who helped strike down Affirmative Action have been the biggest accomplishments in the modern-day civil rights movement. As someone who was victimized by DEI policies during my time as a public servant this has been very important for me.

Pray tell. How were you victimized by DEI?

Not sure what being Filipino has to do with being victimized by DEI. Hopefully, reading his story will clarify that. If he chooses to not share his story, that's his right.
But, frankly, I'm dyin' to know how a maga libertarian defines "victimization".

Actually, people are victimized by DEI when equally qualified people, who happen to be brown, or non-cis get promoted over a straight whites.
Does anyone remember the furor around the nomination of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson?

Yup. AND I was in the healthcare workforce long enough to watch management shenanigans over affirmative action back in the day. A lot of lazy and/or incompetent middle managers used affirmative action as an excuse for their own inability to do their jobs. Some of it could well have been malicious compliance, too. A win-win for white folks, though - especially white men.
Something I read back in the 70's has stuck with me. To paraphrase: once it is established, the primary goal of any institution inevitably becomes the perpetuation of itself. This holds true for religious, humanitarian, commercial, educational, scientific ... even religious or racial nationalists. (I think it was from either Harvey Cox (Catholic tbeologian) or Archibald Cox (legal scholar and attorney.))
Funny how that works, innit?
As for Justice Jackson - I do remember. That song and dance is so familiar I could almost write the speeches myself. Pure duckspeak.
