QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

QuoteAmid all this, travelers are increasingly turning away from the U.S., and the World Travel & Tourism Council said the U.S. economy is set to lose $12.5 billion in international traveler spending this year.
It's sad to read of allies issuing travel advisories and tourists saying "no thanks" to MAGA land.
We're dependent on tourists here in Florida but it seems domestic demand remains high even if International tourism is down.

I'm not certain that the tourism and travel projections are forecasting a robust domestic tourist industry this year. People are certainly still competing their previously arranged trips. Tourists joined the recent demonstration for democracy in Fairbanks.

This kind of stuff doesn't make people feel comfortable about travel.

It looks like the state of Florida might use some of it's FEMA funds to pay for a portion of this.

Apparently the fellow was required to unlock his phone and submit to a drug test. People entering the USA now have to submit to some crazy stuff just for a visit to the USA where individual freedom no longer seems to be a priority.
Meanwhile it's credibly reported that Musk was evaluating our government efficiency while high and carrying around his daily drugs in a cute little box after the former white house physician earned a demotion for his involvement in drug related and other misconduct while on the job during the first Trump administration.
Trumplandia is an interesting place.
