QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

I did see a few signs that suggested they may be planning an insurrection.
An insurrection, political violence (Tesla attacks), trans mass shooter or any violence isn't extremism nor violent if it left wing.
Parents at school meetings, preachers on the street and peacfully and patriotically making your voice heard are all examples of domestic terrorism far right extreemism. And POC who disagree from the left doctrine are white supremist.
Gee, I didn't hear any threats of violence during news reports/ online posts of last Saturdays #Hands off rally.
Next Rally: April 19th!
In social media posts, the group stated that they want 3.5 percent of the U.S. population—more than 11 million people—to participate. They cite this figure as the threshold for "sustained resistance in order to make a difference."
I'll be back.--with rollator if needed.

What do you call scooping up people who are in the US legally and disappearing them into a concentration camp in El Salvador?
My white son has many tattoos but there is zero chance they kidnap him, yet my SiL has a hispanic last name and I worry about his safety.
Quote"It's absolutely domestic terrorism. I know that may discomfort many people. But vandalism is a crime that if it's committed with a political motive, can certainly be defined as terrorism," says Bruce Hoffman, senior fellow for counterterrorism and homeland security at the Council on Foreign Relations. He is the co-author of the forthcoming book, God, Guns, and Sedition: Far-Right Terrorism in America.
There is a history there.

I would suggest that since the Tesla protests and vandalizing is occurring in multiple countries the issue isn't politics in general, the issue is the fascist political ideation of one wealthy man who owns a car company. Most of humanity recognizes and feels disdain for fascism when they encounter it and Musk is definitely a fascist.
Bondi is going to be very assertive in following Trump's lead. Trump doesn't believe in independence of the DOJ.

That's right. No talk of violence or revolution or civil war. There were no armed protestors suggesting a second amendment solution to disagreement.
I'll be going to the rally on the 19th and I will be bringing at least one person who didn't attend the last protest.
QuoteThe US warned on Tuesday that Chinese intelligence is using deceptive methods to target current and former US government employees for recruitment.
The warning from the National Counterintelligence and Security Center comes amid mass federal firings led by Elon Musk's Department of Government of Efficiency.
"Foreign intelligence entities, particularly those in China, are targeting current and former US government (USG) employees for recruitment by posing as consulting firms, corporate headhunters, think tanks, and other entities on social and professional networking sites," the center said in a bulletin.
The center said deceptive online job offers and other approaches have become more sophisticated in targeting individuals with US government backgrounds seeking new employment. It warned current and former federal employees of such approaches.
There are thousands of options for our geopolitical enemies. I chuckled when I read that the feds warned them to protect and government secrets. None of those disgruntled employees are important enough to get away with sharing secrets on private chat platforms with non government people.
Tweety said:I think the stance of Kennedy is to let the parents choose whether or not to vaccinate and end mandates.
Clearly the parents and Kennedy understand this will result in death and hospitalization even if the overwhelming majority of them will recover.
Parents seeing another child die from the measles but make the decision to not vaccinate because misinformation or fear injury from the vaccine is a a roll of the dice hopefully they are aware of.
Ending school mandates has not turned out very well. We need to get them back on the books. Most states have very low standards for homeschooling so that should help the parents keep them at home.

Aren't they protesting the scrutiny of all federal programs and agencies.
Bizarre.
Hands off our data. Almost all government programs receive regular audits. Which programs do you think are the most "fradulent"? Don't even bother with the social security checks which have gone out to people 120 years old because these checks were never cashed. You don't make an agency more efficient by firing the people trying to keep up with data changes.

In many cases it doesn't sound like the people in charge of preventing fraud and waste, or keeping up with "data changes", have been doing such a great job.
Anyway, "hands off our data" sounds like fake outrage. Especially from a society who seems OK with just about every public and private entity out there having access to personal information.
Heck, do you have any idea who all at AN has access to your name, email, and location?
Medicare FRAUD??
Make it illegal/put in jail the telemarketers who call Medicare recipients offering back and knee braces, genetic testing, and health kits -- calls I'm getting several times daily (despite telling them to never call me again/blocking phone# -- now telling them I'm a bar or pizza shop)---and get billed to Medicare.
