QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.
An 8 year old died from complications of measles infection yesterday.

QuoteThe 8-year-old girl died early Thursday morning of "measles pulmonary failure" at a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, according to records obtained by The New York Times. It is the second confirmed measles death in a decade in the United States.
QuoteAccording to doctors in Texas, Mr. Kennedy's endorsement of alternative treatments has contributed to patients delaying critical care and ingesting toxic levels of vitamin A.
Experts also fear that the Trump administration's recent decisions to dismantle international public health safeguards and pull funding from local health departments have made large, multistate outbreaks more likely.
Team Trump seems intent upon taking us back 100 or more years in terms of our health and our economy.

Ultimately it was the parents who decided not to vaccinate. The parents of the first child that died still insist that they would make the same choice. We haven't been on earth long enough for Mother Nature to connect the gonads to the brains but it will untimately have to happen for humans to survive.

I'm quite confident that team Trump was an influence in their ongoing decision to not vaccinate their children.

I think the stance of Kennedy is to let the parents choose whether or not to vaccinate and end mandates.
Clearly the parents and Kennedy understand this will result in death and hospitalization even if the overwhelming majority of them will recover.
Parents seeing another child die from the measles but make the decision to not vaccinate because misinformation or fear injury from the vaccine is a a roll of the dice hopefully they are aware of.
Speaking of Kennedy he made a post about Steak and Shakes use of beef tallow fries instead of seed oils recently. Giving them praise.
Nutrition is an interest of mine and I will say that deep fried anything like french fries are not healthy. Kennedy ate a burger and fries at a Stake and Shake with Hannity to promote beef tallow. This should not be part of "make America healthy again" because fast processed fast food is part of the problem.
There are also numerous studies showing that seed oils are not detrimental to one's health. Yes Kennedy and social media influencers perpetuate this myth and misinformation. Steak and Shake is just getting on a bandwagon like "gluten free", etc. to profit.
Things like not letting food stamps purchase Coke, I can get behind, but not this.

Kennedy is so unqualified for this job that he almost makes Hegseth look like a good choice in comparison. Then there's Bondi.
QuoteA top immigration attorney at the Department of Justice was placed on indefinite leave Saturday after he questioned the deportation of a Maryland man to El Salvador, according to The New York Times.
A letter obtained by the paper which had been sent to Erez Reuveni, the acting deputy director of the immigration litigation division, states that he was suspended by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche for not following "a directive from your superiors.”
QuoteThis comes after Reuveni was promoted just two weeks ago. He's one of several career officials who have faced demotion, suspension, a transfer, or been fired for not following directions from Trump appointees.
Attorney General Pam Bondi told the Times, "At my direction, every Department of Justice attorney is required to zealously advocate on behalf of the United States.”
I think what she really meant to say was that they are "required to zealously advocate on behalf of Trump." Otherwise, these professionals would be allowed to examine and question the evidence of the case.

The herd will be culled regardless of what we think. It's particularly unfortunate that RFK came to his job during the reign of TiKTok. Darwin will help us out here.
