Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.

Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle

When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)

omg this tread is the best!!

1. I missed lecture can I make a copy of your notes!

2. I can't make it to class today I went to Atlantic City last night and I have to work super late tonight, can I have a copy of todays lecture notes.

3. I can't believe it we like get the same grades in this class.. Ya, really you think soo.. It's because you have a copy of all my freakin NOTES!

4. (person is crying wa, wa) I dont understand how you did so much better than I did, You are taking another class with nursing and you have kids too i dont get it(wa,wa) You think its because I stopped making copies of my notes and giving them to you and I became unavailable for you to text me 100 times a day.. ya thats right I got a 96 and you 72.. Oh BTW did you go to Atlantic City this weekend? How did I do it? I studied my BUTT OFF and pretty much ignored my poor kids.. Thats how I did it dingbat!!

5. I stopped telling people what I get on exams now because people look at you really nasty and talk about you behind your back as if I had the ans. to the test or I was cheating.. and yesI can hear you, IM NOT DEAF!

6. I was helping my friend with a math problem and we were whispering to each other so of course we were really close together and this person comes over and sticks her head right in between us and if she got any closer I could have literally kissed her. I said to her "Excuse me, can I help you" she said "No, dont mind me Im just being nosey" Ya really... GET LOST this conversation did not include you.

7. Can someone tell me why some nursing students eavesdrop on everyones conversation? Its really annouying, and most people arent your friends they just want to use you.

Stop talking about how good you are because you received a 100% on the two exams today! You should be getting 100% on all tests since this is the 3rd nursing program that you have been part of!

I wish I was half as smart as what you think you are!

It is not my responsibility to remind you of when tests are…you received a syllabus at the beginning of the class like me.

Stop asking me for help with your papers. We have written about 60 papers thus far. You should have a grip on APA style by now.

hey you..yeah you , the one who thinks they know everything bc they worked in an ALF for 6 months. yes, just because the required chapters word for word..doesnt mean u know it all. stop arguing with the teacher who has 25 years of experience.

oh btw no ones give a ****** ****that you got 100 or 99 or 98 on ur stupid test.. stop posting it on ur facebook and blabbing about it in class. who gives a ****.

am i jealous, no--just annoyed. she should keep this junk to herself.

i mean we all go to NS for the same reason to do well & take care of our pts ... because at the end of the day they arent going to care if u memorized the whole book but if u cant fix their problem right?.

Uh yeah. We have 3 girls in our class that are always bragging about how well they did on the tests but hello! This isn't their first rodeo. They were all in the program before!

This is what I want to know. Every time I open my mouth to say ANYTHING to one of my classmates, everyone on the opposite side of the room swivels around and stares. Their ears are practically twitching they're trying to hard to hear what I'm saying. Never did I know I was THAT interesting! Other people have noticed it too. One girl in particular hangs on every single word I utter. I really do not get it.

Yes! And it's even more annoying when they post their 'A minus' grade along with, "...maybe next time I'll get a better grade if I would have studied." Or how 'bout this, "...that's what I get for not studying."

It's one thing to proud of yourself and to let others know your results, especially when you put in the effort. But when you go out of your way, every time, to let everyone know that you barely have to study for your 'A', it starts to look as if you either have something to prove to everyone or you're in search of some heavy duty validation, which at that point, you have either pushed people far, far away or others start to feel sorry for you.

Am I jealous? I don't know if it's jealousy, but when I feel like I've studied to the point of exhaustion every freakin' night and all I get is a measly 'B minus'; I get a little irritated when certain people appear to be bragging about how little effort they put in for their 'A'.

I'm only irritated for a minute and the I move on to my life, because that's all that really matters to me right now.

You're mostly late for class, rarely hand in assignments, missed several quizzes, and you're telling me you think you'll pull an "A"?

You can flirt all you want with the residents at the clionical site, because you're in for a rude wake-up call when it doesn't work in "real life."

Can you please stop texting in class? Every. Freakin'. Second.

I know you do things "differently" than we're taught because you work in a doctor's office/are an EMT, whatever. We've known that since the first day of class when you told us five times. If you don't like the way skills are taught, or you think you can do them better, THEN DON'T SHOW UP when they're presented!! Save us the grief and the brown-nosing. Since you "know" all these skills, why did you fail the blood pressure compentency? Oh, I forgot..it was the teacher's fault, the equipment's fault, whatever. You can do no wrong.

You are a rude and annoying person. I really hope you don't talk to your patients the way you have talked to others in our clinical group. I have paused, flabbergasted for a minute at some of the things you have said to me. For your information, I AM a beautiful person and will wear my hair the way I want, and I don't care what you think of me or the way I conduct my affairs. In fact, I will be going about my business as usual because it works for me. And guess what? I actually finish my patient cares, while you are left walking your patient late -- despite incessant complaining that theres "nothing to do here." You are also the most negative person I have ever met. I've literally never heard anythng positive come out of your mouth. Just negativity, complaining, and profanity. News flash? You dont HAVE to be here. You can quit now, or go to another program. There are many excellent options in our area. You are bringing the rest of us down.

The only reason I don't say this to you is because I only have to put up with you for another few weeks and then hopefully I'll never have to see or work with you again. And next time you ask me a question or for my help after being so rude to me, I'll just shrug and go back to my work, because my time is better spent.

Quit raising your hand and going off on 10-minute-long tangents every time the instructor says something that even transiently involves something that you or one of your 10,000 family members experienced.

Oh my God, that happened in my Peds lecture on Tuesday. I like my instructor but she is a very no-nonsense woman, has been doing this for a long time, blah blah blah. She also has two Masters degrees, and works as a Pediatric CNS in addition to teaching so I value her opinion a lot even though she can be kind of harsh. She told us on the FIRST DAY that if we had a dispute over a test question to email it to her with supporting evidence from the textbook and she would review it. As we went over a test on Tuesday people continued to ask questions despite several warnings, so... :uhoh3:
