Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.
Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle
When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)
this will be fun
1. On facebook, do not post that you are studying all night, and come in the next day and fail the test.
2. You can't flirt your way through nursing school.................................
3. I do not care at all, that you plan on going to CRNA school and you will never have to do peri care again. We aren't in CRNA school now.
4. Don't get mad at me, because I know how to study and pass a test.
5. Quit saying we should 'work together' or 'put our heads together' on that big paper that is due soon, especially when I will be doing all of the work because you have no idea what you are doing.
only 5 of many!

#3 is, sadly, so true. It seems like everyone I go to school with (in a CC ASN program!) is immediately "going on to get their MSN." Not that there's anything wrong with that, but the students who mention it most often are the ones who squeaked by in Pharm and often have to turn to others for help with papers and care plans.
I would say the following to my fellow nursing students....
1. I don't care what grade you got on the test AND I wont tell you what I got on the test because, I know you'll just talk about me behind my back and tell everyone what I got, because that's what you just did to someone else a few minutes ago.
2. Please stop praising yourself outloud for getting an answer right when asked by the instructor or finishing an assignment first. It's good to be confident but, you are so full of yourself.
3. You gossip about everyone and talk behind everyone's back and are fake in front of the teachers looking helpful and nice to your pts during clinicals. I hope you don't end up being my nurse because, you're compassion and kindness is so fake it makes me wonder why you went into nursing to begin with.
4. I feel sorry for you that you cheat and lie your way though this class. You wont be able to cheat your way when it comes time to take the NCLEX. Good luck on that.
5. I pray to God that you leave me alone. You are not a nice person and I don't trust you.
I'm so glad I let that off my chest. My program is just like high school. So many competitive, jealous, backstabbing, and gossipy students.
Thank you to the original poster for creating this thread.
It's funny. When school first started, I wanted to scream at so many of my classmates. But now that we're into our 5th week, they're totally starting to grow on me.
HOWEVER
I still get super duper annoyed when people ask questions completely unrelated, or are EXTREME EXTREME cases of something that probably will never happen. And those that who ask the same question someone else did, but rephrased oh so slightly....

Yeah! So many people in my program have these huge plans to be NP's and doctors..and they're barely getting through what we're doing now. It's good to have goals, but uhh take it one day at a time!
Please STOP wasting precious class time every single week by bringing and reading aloud a corny "uplifting" email forward (that is probably bogus anyways) that your sister-in-law's second cousin's daughter's baby daddy's ex-lover (or whoever) sent to you. I did NOT get up at 4:30am and drive all the way here to hear it, nor did I pay $1,500 for this. If I wanted to read this asinine crap, I'd do it on my own time, on my own dollar. If we spent more time reviewing, I don't know, NURSING material rather than reading about the golden retriever puppy's life that was magically saved when its six-year-old owner kissed it on the nose, perhaps the class's test scores wouldn't be so freaking low!!

You are kidding...please tell me you are kidding. Is this the instructor?
Please please please please please please just shut up..None of paid over a 1,000. dollars to hear your 10 minute "comments", I mean really I am just so confused why you are even in nursing school, I mean really you so obviously know so much more then our 20+ years experience professors.

I also blame the instructors for allowing this kind of stuff. They need to manage the classroom.

I know this has been posted sooooo many times before but I just had to echo it again...
What I would tell my dear, dear classmates:
1) S.H.U.T. U.P!!!!!!!!!!!!
2) If it hurts your self-esteem so badly to find out that someone else made a better score on the test than you STOP ASKING
3) No I do not want to gossip with you about my classmates, the teacher, the program, the nurses, the hospital. I would like a job someday and that behavior ain't going to cut it.
Ahhhhhh. Sooooo therapeutic :-)
