Things I have learned in Nursing

(Or life)This is sort of like dropping words of wisdom of things you have learned during the course of nursing. Heck it may even be another profession. But just things you've learned that could be of help to another.

I have learned to always have agreements written down in black and white. If you don't have it written down, then you cannot claim it.

Nursing has taught me... I am in the BUSINESS of healthcare. Not the healthcare business.

Things are usually as they appear, but not always.

Nursing has shown me that the phrase "for better or worse, in sickness and in health" in marriage vows is alive and well for many people.

I see love in action in many a patient's husband or wife.

You can put a tourniquet (or rubber bands) around a container you can't seem to twist open. Works like a charm.

the correct response to a situation (any situation) does not include panic.

I don't know everything and if I did we would not need orientation :)

Nursing taught me I don't need to know everything just be willing to admit I don't know and be willing to learn

I have learned how to keep my (horrible) temper under control while dealing with even the craziest and cruelest of family members. Now if only I could do something about my face giving away that I think they are crazy, lol.
