Things I Am Grateful For (Vol. 1)

I have a bad habit of focusing on the negative around me, and as an effort to realign my thought processes I thought I'd start a Gratitude List of the wonderful and beautiful things around me that tend to get overlooked as I slog through my day. (Nod to ixchel and the "This Week I Have Learned..." threads.)

I am grateful for:

1. My husband

2. My children

3. My fat, smelly dog

4. Coffee

5. The smell of the air after a good rain

6. To know what "perfect silence" sounds like provided by a fresh fallen snow (I miss that!)

7. Seeing my guitar sitting right next to my husband's. I think it's sweet.

8. My comfy bed.

9. The huge orange/yellow moon last night. It was spectacular!

10. The fact that I don't have to take the people that I work with home with me.

11. Frogs.

There's a million more (funny how that happens) but that'll do for now. I have the warm/fuzzies going, and that was the idea.

You've had a few glasses of wine, haven't you? Is it the kind that comes in a box? Is it?? :specs:

I'm thankful for my friends and a long walk this morning by the Bay.

I am thankful for a lot. Feeling good vs sick, life itself....gota be thankful. :)

1. Family. Even though we are a messed up group of individuals, I love them deep, DEEP down.

2. The genius who came up with donuts. I love donuts.

3. Open bar at weddings. I've already mentioned this and thought it was worth mentioning again.

4. Technology. I don't know how people tried finding places with just an atlas.

Oh and #4 and #8 I can really agree on! Fat smelly dog....well, I love the dog...not the smelly! hahaha

I do this every day in the notes section of my phone! It's very hard for me to be happy-- I have to work hard at it, especially today--and this is a huge help.

Today, I'm thankful for:

1. My parents and my whole family

2. My sweet, patient and committed boyfriend

3. My often infuriating but always entertaining college friends

4. That I discovered EMS

5. My awesome new dorm room

6. Country music

7. Hairspray

8. Bright colors

9. Flowers

But mostly, I'm thankful that time always passes.... 26 days will turn into 0 soon (when I get to see my family and my boy again).

I'm thankful for:

1) My boyfriend, who loves me unconditionally even when I'm being a hormonal brat.

2) My family, who supports me in everything I do - even from 700+ miles away.

3) My sorority sisters, who have made an strange city in an unfamiliar region seem more like home.

4) My coworkers, who are always happy to provide help when I ask for it.

5) Dunkin donuts.

6) My homemade arrabiatta sauce...to DIE for!!

7) My big, comfy bed.

8) My new set of roommates who thankfully have not gone full psycho (knock on wood).

9) My upbringing - I've noticed that in comparison to how people are brought up here, I am very tolerant of many different cultures.

10) I was in a bit of financial turmoil for about a year and now I'm at a place where I feel comfortable and can manage it.

I could go on but I don't want to bore (:
