Hey all,
I'm taking the Nclex tomorrow, and studying/reviewing last minute things. I jumped on allnurses for a bit of a break.
So here's my question.. What is the theme song to your nursing career?
There are so many that I identify with: What's going on' by four non-blondes was a favorite a few years ago. And when I found out that I had past the NCLEX, I knew I had to find a song on I-tunes for the moment and in a flash I knew what I was going to get...
'I just want to celebrate'.... By Rare Earth.
Oh my, that hit the spot!

This past week of my externship, it's been "Another One Bites the Dust".There's a hospital here that plays "lullaby" on the overhead speakers each time a baby is born in the hospital, I think they should play "another one bites the dust" each time a patient passes as well; otherwise, it'd just be unfair!
If the code makes it should we play "stayin' alive"? We have had this discussion at work. Yes it is warped I know.
I'm leaving a job I hate, so I've got a few theme songs for this occasions:
Done-The Band Perry
"You're one bridge I'd like to burn. Bottle up the ashes and smash the urn. I'm through, with you, laa dee daa"
Take this job and shove it-Johnny Paycheck
I don't usually like country music, but many songs in that genre express feelings better than pop songs.
Moving out-Billy Joel
"Working too can give you a heart attack-ack-ack..." Love me some Billy Joel.
Border song-Elton John
"Holy Moses I have been deceived. Now the wind has changed direction and I'll have to leave. Won't you please excuse my frankness but it's not my cup of tea. Holy Moses I have been deceived".
No regrets-Robbie Williams

My favorite song to hear on the way to work: "The ****** is Back" by Elton John. And sometimes I mangle a Johnny Cash tune: "golightly on the ledge babe, golightly on the ground... I'm not the one you want babe, mag citrate's where it's found"
Last week I had "mister hanky the christmas poo" stuck in my head. All the patients were serial poopers.
